- Thank you for the feedback! To clarify, I believe the subject meets criteria 1 and 5 of WP:NACADEMIC:
- 1. The person's research has made significant impact in their scholarly discipline, broadly construed, as demonstrated by independent reliable sources.
- The initial draft included only one source for that claim: his editorship of a major journal in the field of European Union Law (the Common Market Law Review). To reinforce this claim, I have updated the draft with the following (all linked to subcriterion 1.d):
- Links to his selected publications, which have been featured by major journals and book publishers in the field.
- A link to another journal that features the subject in its editorial board.
- A link to his participation as an evalator for a highly competitive grant offered by the European Research Council
- While all those links are primary sources, none of them is directly controlled by me or by the subject.
- 5. The person has held a distinguished professor appointment at a major institution of higher education and research, a named chair appointment that indicates a comparable level of achievement, or an equivalent position in countries where named chairs are uncommon.
- A full professorship at the European University Institute is a temporary appointment, usually lasting from 5 to 8 years. These professors are selected by a competitive process, and they tend to already hold full professorships in their home institutions (see, for example, the nomination of another EUI professor.). Unfortunately, I could not find a good secondary source for this information about the selection procedure, but it suggests the institution has enough prestige among its peers to count as a "major institution". So, I followed the procedure indicated in WP:NACADEMIC for this criterion and added the link to the EUI's press release on the nomination.
- Would these additions be enough to show notability as an academic? Longicaudis (talk) 18:44, 15 January 2025 (UTC)
