Welcome!

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions; however, please remember the essential rule of respecting copyrights. Edits to Wikipedia, such as your edit to the page Taxis of Hong Kong, may not contain material from copyrighted sources unless that text is available under a suitable free license. It is almost never okay to copy extensive text out of a book or website and paste it into a Wikipedia article with little or no alteration, though you can clearly and briefly quote copyrighted text in the right circumstances. Content that does not comply with this legal rule must be removed. For more information on this, see:

If you still have questions, there is the Teahouse, or you can click here to ask a question on your talk page and someone will be along to answer it shortly. As you get started, you may find the pages below to be helpful.

I hope you enjoy editing Wikipedia! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. Information icon Hi Ilovefood123123! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor at Hong Kong that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a specific definition on Wikipedia—it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Adding references and figures are not minor.MarkH21talk 13:00, 30 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

My apologies, I never realised the actual meaning for "minor edits", please forgive me as I am rather new to editing the Wikipedia. I appreciate and thank you for pointing this out. Is there a way for me to revert this? Ilovefood123123 (talk) 13:05, 30 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
It's okay! There is no way to change past edits, but you can avoid clicking on the "minor edit" box in the future unless the edit is just fixing a typo or something else mentioned at WP:MINOR. Thanks. — MarkH21talk 19:10, 30 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

August 2024

Hello, I'm Rusty Cat. I noticed that in this edit to Handover of Macau, you removed content without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, the removed content has been restored. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Rusty 🐈 15:08, 7 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I was trying to rephrase and update information based on the Hong Kong University Students' Union page. I apologise as I wasn't quite sure how I could cite sources from that, could you please tell me how this is usually done or do I just copy the same sources from that page? Notice

The article St. Anne's Church, Hong Kong has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Run-of-the-mill parish church; WP:BEFORE turns up no evidence of special notability, though there may be Chinese sources I'm not seeing.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. — Moriwen (talk) 20:35, 27 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Ilovefood123123, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.

While your contributions are appreciated, I wanted to let you know that I've started a discussion about whether an article that you created, Hong Kong Institute of Asia-Pacific Studies, should be deleted, as I am not sure that it is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia in its current form. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Hong Kong Institute of Asia-Pacific Studies.

Deletion discussions usually run for seven days and are not votes. Our guide about effectively contributing to such discussions is worth a read. The most common issue in these discussions is notability, but it's not the only aspect that may be discussed; read the nomination and any other comments carefully before you contribute to the discussion. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Noleander}}. And don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ . Thanks!

Welcome!

Hi Ilovefood123123! I noticed your contributions and wanted to welcome you to the Wikipedia community. I hope you like it here and decide to stay.

I've noticed that you've expressed an interest in the Arab–Israeli conflict. Unfortunately, due to a history of conflict and disruptive editing it has been designated a contentious topic and is subject to some strict rules.

The rule that affects you most as a new or IP editor is the prohibition on making any edit related to the Arab–Israel conflict, which includes discussing articles on talk pages, unless you are logged into an account that is at least 30 days old and has made at least 500 edits.

This prohibition is broadly construed, so it includes edits such as adding the reaction of a public figure concerning the conflict to their article or noting the position of a company or organization as it relates to the conflict.

The exception to this rule is that you may request a specific change to an article on the talk page of that article or at this page. Please ensure that your requested edit complies with our neutral point of view and reliable sourcing policies, and if the edit is about a living person our policies on biographies of living people as well.

Any edits you make contrary to these rules are likely to be reverted, and repeated violations can lead to you being blocked from editing.

Ways to improve Far East Finance Centre

Hello, ManducatingMouser,

Thank you for creating Far East Finance Centre.

I have tagged the page as having some issues to fix, as a part of our page curation process and note that:

I am unable to determine from the article and its sources what makes it notable per our General Notability Guilines at WP:GN. For example, notability is not inherited by being climbed by Alain Robert or people who lived there or or tennants: WP:NINI.

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, leave a comment here and begin it with {{Re|Kudpung}}. Remember to sign your reply with ~~~~. For broader editing help, please visit the Teahouse.
