Talk:Yevgeny Prigozhin

Image

The current lead image is a blurred and rather informally-taken headshot. Why can't one of his official images, taken in some professional setting, be used? 49.205.252.178 (talk) 08:46, 1 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Likely due to copyright issues. Any image used on Wikipedia must have a copyright compatible with Wikipedia's, which allows for reuse by anyone for any purpose with attribution. That usually means that it must be uploaded by the photographer(if they are willing to release the rights to the image) or already made available with a copyright compatible with Wikipedia(which must be explicit, we can't assume). Most images available on the internet are not suitable for Wikipedia. 331dot (talk) 09:02, 1 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Trolls'

What is that about? Why use the word trolls? 2604:3D08:5C8A:AE00:F5C7:786E:AA2E:8620 (talk) 09:14, 28 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

About your photo change

@Roman Kubanskiy, the photograph you added in the place of the old one is from 2016, while the old one was from 2023. In my opinion, the article should have a more recent photo of Prigozhin, regardless of photo quality (the old new wasn't that bad anyways in my opinion) Oakchris1955 (talk) 14:48, 9 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]

In fact, I have repeatedly tried to coordinate the publication of the photo from Notepad Krasnodar on Wikipedia with this publication. They are one of the few publications that were able to interview Prigozhin a few weeks before his alleged death. Roman Kubanskiy (talk) 15:56, 9 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]
@Oakchris1955 but unfortunately the result was silence. Roman Kubanskiy (talk) 15:57, 9 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]
I assume the issue here is with copyright. Perhaps WP:FAIRUSE could apply here? Oakchris1955 (talk) 19:29, 9 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]
