Talk:The Price of Salt

Norton edition acknowledgment error

The W.W. Norton & Company edition of The Price of Salt (now includes "or Carol" in title) states:

First published in the USA by The Naiad Press, Tallahassee, FL, in 1952
Revised edition with an Afterword by the Author, 1984
© 1984 by Claire Morgan
© 1991 by Patricia Highsmith

The novel was first published in the USA in 1952 by Coward-McCann. The Afterword by Highsmith was written in 1989 for publication in the 1990 Bloomsbury republication. (You would think that someone at Norton would have realized the error by now.) Pyxis Solitary (talk) 00:55, 4 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Per Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Novels#Images – "If there are multiple editions of a book, there may be multiple covers. The image displayed at the top of the article should be the most significant cover historically for that book; often this is the first edition cover, but occasionally it is not, if a later edition is better known."
