Official Language

Although many publications and even many media houses in Nigeria list it as Nigerias official language, no where in its constitution is English given such a position in fact the few times English is mentioned explicitly is n its constitution it’s on more or less the same level as Hausa Yoruba and Igbo ie it is a working language of the National Assembly and State house of Assembly, both of which can designate in the case of the NASS Hausa Igbo Yoruba or all 3 as working languages alongside English or in the case of State house of assemblies can choose any language they so choose ~2025-35117-08 (talk) 05:32, 20 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

See Languages of Nigeria, citations about the recognition of French as the second official language of Nigeria might not be sufficient to list French into the infobox. Ahri Boy (talk) 06:16, 8 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
As far as I understand, French is an official language of Nigeria, albeit badly implemented. What's the threshold for sources for adding it to the infobox? The current situation on this page and Languages of Nigeria is more confusing than the actual situation itself.
My suggestion (wikipedia newbie) would be to add French to the infobox, refer to Languages of Nigeria, and extend the explanation there on its status in practice vs in law. SubClassof (talk) 19:52, 17 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Error in the GDP standings

There is an error in the GDP standings. The numbers in the Economy section and the top section do not match. Ayaan Dhody (talk) 09:52, 12 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
