January 6 United States Capitol attack

As per an RFC there is no community consensus to call January 6 United States Capitol attack as Terrorism as per this RFC .Hence it should not added this page. Pharaoh of the Wizards (talk) 00:16, 9 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

What would count as a consensus? That RFC you linked had at least 63 said yes, at least 42 said no, and at least 24 said wait. 2603:6011:9600:52C0:9804:53F7:C76F:B6F8 (talk) 02:56, 21 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Did you read the first line of the summary of that RfC closure? --ZimZalaBim talk 03:29, 21 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • That consensus doesn't apply here, per WP:CONLOCAL. It is loosely indicative that a discussion held here might reach the same result, but it applies only to the page where it was held. Even beyond that, a no-consensus outcome isn't binding in either direction (outside of WP:BLP issues), and the closing rationale focused heavily on how it was a bad RFC; that's not a consensus that tells us what to do even on that page, let alone anywhere else. --Aquillion (talk) 12:25, 28 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
So in the absence of certainty, why should we declare the affirmative? Tooli Mars (talk) 17:02, 29 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Would like to add the following Entry to the list:

The 2017 Las Vegas shooting, considered the deadliest mass shooting in modern U.S. history, took place on October 1, 2017, when a gunman, Stephen Paddock, opened fire from the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay hotel onto a crowd of concertgoers attending the Route 91 Harvest music festival. The attack left 58 people dead and over 850 injured, including 411 from gunfire, in a span of 10 minutes. Paddock, a 64-year-old retiree, had stockpiled an arsenal of firearms, including semi-automatic rifles modified with bump stocks to increase their rate of fire. He fired over 1,000 rounds before taking his own life as law enforcement breached his hotel room. Despite an extensive investigation, authorities were unable to determine a clear motive for Paddock’s actions, and he had no known ties to terrorist groups or criminal activities. The incident prompted renewed debates about gun control, mental health, and public safety measures within the United States.

Not done: Given that terrorism is defined as being motivated by some sort of ideological goals, I don't believe the 2017 Las Vegas shooting would merit inclusion, as the gunman's motive was never determined. – Recoil16 (talk) 21:36, 28 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Does Antifa count?

This week's executive order by President Trump designated anti-fascist activist groups in the USA as a domestic terrorist organization on grounds that they are "a militarist, anarchist enterprise that explicitly calls for the overthrow of the United States Government, law enforcement authorities, and our system of law." Does that count for this article? Damian Yerrick (talk) 20:45, 27 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

should be added, I will add it PhilovGraves (talk) 14:21, 28 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
And I removed it. Antifa is not an organisation nor terrorist. It hasn't committed domestic terrorism. Read the lead. This claim doesn't belong here. Doug Weller talk 14:57, 28 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

They absolutely do belong here. They are a funded left wing group, have committed crimes, have been sent to jail by courts, and now the federal government lists them as a domes to terrorist organization. Cannot let your personal politics get in the way of reality.

Funded? Who funded them? Reaity is that they aren't an organised group no matter what the judge says, and the rest of the article says "Antifa — short for “anti-fascist” — is a catch-all term for a loose assortment of left-wing protesters with no central leadership or membership structure who share an opposition to authoritarianism and ethnic, sexual, gender and religious-based discrimination.
A CBS report cited by Congress says “antifa is not a highly organized movement” but rather “a loose affiliation of local activists scattered across the United States and a few other countries.” Also don't forget Trump cannot designate any group as a domestic terrorist organisation.[https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cq5j085207do] Doug Weller talk 08:29, 29 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
You need to have some basis for your comments, not baseless opinion. It's nice to have opinions, but they cannot be foundationless, lest they be taken as silly. Royal2Real (talk) 12:01, 29 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Please change the linked article for 764 from the year 764 to the article for the group 764. The link in question is in the "764 and No Lives Matter" subsection within the "Terrorist organizations" section. ~2025-43797-74 (talk) 21:25, 29 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
