Names of Heads of School

Is it necessary to have the names of the Heads of School for each specific theological area of the college? As a matter of privacy? Although they are able to view them on the ALC website anyway. Just a thought.

Could a history of the college also be put on there?

Dalekerrigan 12:52, 28 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I added a history of the campus to the site last week; didn't think to mention it here until now though sorry. I got the info from a pamphlet produced by the College and given to its students, such as me. Sem boy (talk) 13:30, 16 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

InfoBox

Is anyone able to fix the info box on this site, as it says "colours" where the colours are meant to be. Perhaps this line could be removed because the School has no official Colours for sporting teams etc.Sem boy (talk) 07:48, 18 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Misinformation

"Although still primarily a theological college, it is also open to students studying at Adelaide University, the University of South Australia, Flinders University, or TAFE, a paradigm reflected in the name change of 2004." This quote is misleading, as ALC is a registered Higher Education Provider in its own right, and one doesn't have to be a student anywhere else at all to study at the college. Could this please be rectified. Thanks Sem boy (talk) 12:20, 6 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I think that's what it's saying, although perhaps it could be worded better.--Yeti Hunter (talk) 14:20, 6 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Unable to review edit request   Your edit request could not be reviewed because it is unclear which references are connected to which claim statements in the text of your proposal. When proposing edit requests, it is important to highlight in the text which specific sources are doing the referencing for each claim. The point of an inline citation is to allow the reviewer and readers to check that the material is sourced; that point is lost if the citation's note number is not clearly placed. Note the example below:

☒N INCORRECT

The Sun's diameter is 864,337.3 miles, while the Moon's diameter is 2,159 miles. The Sun's temperature is 5,778 degrees Kelvin.

References

      2. Duvalier, Gabrielle. "Size of the Moon", Scientific American, 51(78):46.
      3. Uemura, Shū. The Sun's Heat. Academic Press, 2018, p. 2.

In the example above there are three references provided, but the claim statements do not indicate which reference applies where. Your edit request similarly does not specify where the references you have provided are to be placed. These links between material and their source references must be more clearly made, as shown in the next example below:

The Sun's diameter is 864,337.3 miles,[1] while the Moon's diameter is 2,159 miles.[2] The Sun's temperature is 5,778 degrees Kelvin.[3]

In the example above, the links between the provided references and their claim statements are perfectly clear. Kindly reformulate your edit request so that it aligns more with the second example above, and feel free to re-submit that edit request at your earliest convenience. Sorry about that. I was following the 'Request edit' template which did not mention the finer details of referencing. Is it necessary to explicitly reference so many parts of the article when the information all comes from the same website? (Coralie at ALC (talk) 01:35, 8 January 2019 (UTC))[reply]

In answer to your question, does it need to be ref tagged if the information all comes from one source - the answer to that is that an article should not have large portions of its content coming from only one source. Particularly if that one source is the college itself. Articles on Wikipedia are viewed as 'healthy' if they contain content coming from a variety of sources. Having the entirety of the article sourced according to only one reference is unhealthy. What that does is make the college's Wikipedia article an extension of the college's own website, which is not Wikipedia's purpose. The college's own website is the most appropriate location for most of this information. The best way to ensure this article's health is to search out and provide references which originate from outside of the college itself. To help you in this endeavor, I've placed some search suggestions at the top of your edit request on this talk page. Simply click on the links found in the box to look for sources about this college.   Unable to implement

  • Please specify the correct Hex colors and a reference verifying these colors originating from the college itself.[a]
  • The logo must be uploaded to Wikipedia before it can be added to the article. You may use the File Upload Wizard to accomplish this.

Notes

  1. ^ Colleges and universities as well as sports teams and the like are typically the only approved sources for official colors which an entity will use to represent itself. As such, only a reference from the college should be supplied as the source for color information.

Simply delete the colours - they are not relevant - so no hex codes are needed. Also I'm unable to upload files to Wikipedia without a confirmed account - can you assist with that? Coralie at ALC (talk) 07:34, 10 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
