It seems that one secondary source got it wrong some time back and every source since has copied it. The club which won the Welsh Cup was Oswestry, not White Star. White Star stop being mentioned in 1883 and its players are absorbed into the Oswestry side. Every report for the year refers to Oswestry F.C., not White Star.
