I recently reverted this edit by an IP user restoring an older version of the county results map to the infobox. The old map is based on data taken from the OurCampaigns site (which is not considered a reliable source) that contains several errors, notably omitting data from LaGrange and Randolph counties. I don't have autopatrol rights over at Wikimedia Commons, so I can't edit the original map, and in any case it's not clear to me that this would comply with guidelines for overwriting existing fields. The current version of the map matches county data in Riker and Thornbrough, which is the definitive source for Indiana elections of this period (and is cited by Michael J. Dubin and others). I'm not sure what basis the editor had for restoring the older map, as no explanation was given; from my perspective, I can see no reason why restoring a file with incorrect data based on an unreliable source would be desirable. If I am mistaken or if there are other relevant considerations that I have overlooked, please let me know! Nathaniel Greene (talk) 15:10, 12 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
