English: Site of Cottam station, 1983, View NW, towards Retford: short-cut of ex-GC Sheffield - Retford - Lincoln main line. The station was closed and the line between Clarborough Junction and Sykes Junction closed for passenger traffic from 2/11/59, but is kept open from the west for merry-go-round coal trains to Cottam Power Station. (The cooling-towers in the distance belong to West Burton PS). |
