Lymphatic Education & Research Network

The Lymphatic Education & Research Network (LE&RN) is an international 501(c)(3) non-profit[1] organization that funds lymphatic disease medical research and provides public and medical professional education related to prevention and treatments for lymphedema, lipedema, lymphatic anomalies, and the continuum of lymphatic diseases. LE&RN was co-founded Stanley Rockson, M.D., a professor of lymphatic research and medicine at Stanford University in California[2]. It's current president and CEO is William Repicci[3]. Academy Award-winning actress Kathy Bates is the organization's global spokesperson[4].

Research

In 2021, the Lymphatic Education & Research Network (LE&RN) received a three-year grant from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Chronic Disease Awareness Program[5] for a National Lymphedema Awareness Campaign[6]. As part of the campaign, in 2024 LE&RN produced a National Indicator Report on Cancer-Related Lymphedema assessing the current state of knowledge, care, and public health data concerning lymphedema in the United States.[7]
