"Goin' Places" was an interim concert tour launched by American band, The Jacksons in support and to promote their twelfth studio album "Goin' Places". The tour started on January 22 somewhere in Europe and ended on March 5, 1978 at the Selland Arena in Fresno, California. The tour would take the brothers through the United States, Europe, and Trinidad and Tobago.

Overview

Trinidad and Tobago

Spektacula Promotions's promoters Frank and Caude Martineau brought the brothers to Trinidad and Tobago in February 1978. The group preformed 3 total shows in the country being 2 in Port of Spain at Queen Park Savannah and 1 in San Fernando at Skinner Park with all 3 concerts being sold out. Martineau states that the team realized having so many concerts was uneconomical. "You don't want all that expense, we charged $20 and the shows were sold out at that price which was plenty of money."[1]

United States

The brothers primarily jaunt around cities in California. The tour was initially going to end with a proposed "teen night" event was going to take place at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles, California. A planned merchandise sale including a special edition "Goin Places" picture disc that reads "Jacksons", "Dodgers", Teen Night", "May 13, 1978" displaying a picture of Dodger Stadium.

Stage

During an interview, it was told that the stage costed around 150,000 dollars and that the brothers had more than just "an empty stage with amps and guys holding guitars". During their time in Oakland, the special stage effects never arrived.[2]
