Disambiguation link notification for January 6
Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Grampians National Park, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Arapiles. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Wikipedia and copyright
Hello Spinifex&Sand! While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues.
- You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
- Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify the information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
- We have strict guidelines on the usage of copyrighted images. Fair use images must meet all ten of the non-free content criteria in order to be used in articles, or they will be deleted. To be used on Wikipedia, all other images must be made available under a free and open copyright license that allows commercial and derivative reuse.
- If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Wikipedia. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, to the world, into either the public domain (PD) or under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. Please see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
- Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you must follow the copyright attribution steps described at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. See also Help:Translation#License requirements.
It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, please ask them here on this page, or leave a message on my talk page. Thank you. asilvering (talk) 06:32, 25 July 2023 (UTC)
- Important note: I see you have been previously warned about respecting copyrights, but again have copied text. You must write using your own words. -- Whpq (talk) 01:58, 26 July 2023 (UTC)
- I am still relatively new to this, and do appreciate your help and guidance. I have redrafted the page on Agnes Smith and resubmitted for review. ~~ Spinifex&Sand (talk) 04:16, 16 August 2023 (UTC)
- Thank you asilvering. I am still a relatively new editor, but do want to create good content and so your feedback is appreciated. Thank you for your feedback. I have resubmitted the Agnes Smith page for review. ~~ Spinifex&Sand (talk) 04:18, 16 August 2023 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Draft:Agnes Clifford Smith

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Draft:Agnes Clifford Smith requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://www.jstor.org/stable/community.28046921 and https://www.wvencyclopedia.org/print/Article/465/. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. asilvering (talk) 06:33, 25 July 2023 (UTC)

Jeremy Griffith court case
I see you recently edited this section on the Jeremy Griffith page, about the court case. In case you are not aware, that section was the subject of several lengthy discussions on the Talk pages. Your edits look OK to me (they have certainly made the content easier to understand) but I wanted to let you know it’s probably best to exercise caution when editing any discussion of legal proceedings, especially on a page where a lot of editors have had discussions about how best to present the content. And of course to be mindful of WP:BLP. Cabrils (talk) 00:23, 14 March 2025 (UTC)
September 2025
Hello, I'm Jlwoodwa. An article that you recently made, Nick Carroll, seemed to be generated using a large language model (an "AI chatbot" or another application using such technology). Text produced by these applications can be unsuitable for an encyclopedia, and output must be carefully checked. In particular, you should check each citation, and fictitious references must be removed. If you want to practice editing, please use your sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. jlwoodwa (talk) 05:06, 8 September 2025 (UTC)
Nomination of Nick Carroll for deletion

Welcome to Wikipedia from WikiProject Medicine!
Welcome to Wikipedia from WikiProject Medicine (also known as WPMED).
We're a group of editors who want to improve the quality of medical articles here on Wikipedia. I noticed that you are interested in editing medical articles; it's great to have a new editor on board. In your wiki-voyages, a few things that may be relevant to editing Wikipedia articles are:
- Thanks for coming aboard! We always appreciate a new editor. Feel free to leave us a message at any time on our talk page. If you are interested in joining the project yourself, there is a participant list where you can sign up. Please leave a message on the group's talk page if you have any problems, suggestions, would like review of an article, need suggestions for articles to edit, or would like some help!
- Sourcing of medical and health-related content on Wikipedia is guided by our medical sourcing guidelines, commonly referred to as MEDRS. These guidelines typically require recent secondary sources to support information. Primary sources (case studies, case reports, research studies) are rarely used, especially if the primary sources are produced by the organisation or individual who is promoting a claim.
- The Wikipedia community includes a wide variety of editors with different interests, skills, and knowledge. We all manage to get along through a lot of discussion that happens behind the scenes and through the editing policy. If you encounter any problems, you can discuss them on an article's talk page or post a message on the WPMED talk page.
Feel free to drop a note on my talk page if you have any questions. I wish you all the best, and thank you for your help!
I wanted to leave a note as I had to remove your addition to the myalgic encephalomyelitis/chronic fatigue syndrome page because it relied on primary sources instead of secondary sources as policy for medical topics instructs. I hope this information will be helpful for your future editing! Innisfree987 (talk) 07:36, 10 November 2025 (UTC)
- Hi @Innisfree987, thanks for the advice. Just curious why you removed that content, given its mostly based on a Science Daily article, which is a secondary source? The same material is also discussed here in The Guardian: https://www.theguardian.com/society/2025/oct/08/scientists-say-they-have-first-blood-test-to-diagnose-chronic-fatigue-syndrome-me.
- So I would have thought it would be OK to include those additions??
- I am a bit new to editing Medical focussed articles, so I do appreciate your feedback. Spinifex&Sand (talk) 00:38, 15 November 2025 (UTC)
- Thanks for the tag. In this instance, the Science Daily piece appears to be a press release, so that is a primary source, but additionally WP:MEDPOP recommends against using news articles, so the Guardian isn’t ideal either. We’re looking for secondary sources from scientific authorities, like systematic reviews or major national guidelines. I know this can be somewhat counterintuitive: if you have a few minutes to read WP:MEDRS, it’s well worth the time! Innisfree987 (talk) 03:15, 15 November 2025 (UTC)
- Got it! Thanks @Innisfree987. I will see what I can find. Spinifex&Sand (talk) 20:28, 16 November 2025 (UTC)
