Reading all the comments made by various US politicians, none imply the Holy See being part of the US. Influencing a country does not mean annexation, and even Trump saying he'd like to be Pope wouldn't constitute annexation.

The phrasing of the title makes it seem as if there has already been territorial expansion during Donald Trump's Presidency, it'd be more accurate to describe his commentary (which this article exists to cover) as ambitions rather than just plain expansionism.
