7 July 2005 London bombings#:~:text=A sign on the M25 London orbital road warns drivers to avoid the city.

The description of the image states that the image is a sign on the M6, not the M25. 151.230.43.244 (talk) 16:32, 21 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

"Diverse" victims?

Currently reads: Victims The 52 victims were of diverse backgrounds. All were UK residents, including exchange students. The majority lived in or near London. Their ages ranged from 20 to 60 years old, with an average age of 34.

Suggested Edit:

Victims The 52 victims were all UK residents, the majority citizens living in or near London, as well as a number of foreign exchange students. Their ages ranged from 20 to 60 years old, with an average age of 34.

Comment - not only is there no definition or common understanding of "diverse backgrounds" that apply here, one can also presume that any random sampling of any 52 people in the city of London would reveal a "diversity of background." It seems very pointless to say this. 2604:3D09:C77:4E00:9894:5F5D:73AD:6A9B (talk) 23:17, 7 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I take "diverse backgrounds" to be both a summary of the ages and nationalities (which are given therafter) and to also refer to the professions, religions, ethnicities etc, which were extremely broad, due in part to the time of day (students and office workers on their way to work and early morning office cleaners on their way home, this we don't detail). I would prefer it if we added some sources detailing the diversity, rather than remove the words. Even by London standards, this was a very socially, ethnically and in terms of nationality, varied group of people (2/5 non-British) Also of course not everyone knows how diverse rush-hour London can be anyway, so I don't find it pointless.Pincrete (talk) 04:09, 8 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Yes there is, they came from backgrounds that were not the same, diverse. Slatersteven (talk) 10:16, 8 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

London Bombings

I’m requesting to remove the pages of in an attempt to erase them from history:

SportsLover1967, this is what we call a RIGHT GREAT WRONGS suggestion (ie you are suggesting something in the hope that it remedies rather than simply records a situation in the real world), it isn't going to happen.

I'm sure that we all wish that the events that made these 4 young men's names well-known, had never occurred, but even if we scrubbed the names, that isn't going to erase the memory of the events themselves, so it would be pointless IMO. Better to factually record what little is known about these four, even if it (inevitably?) fails to adequately explain why they would choose to do what they did.Pincrete (talk) 12:16, 1 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]

I can see a reason why, as they are only notable for this event. Slatersteven (talk) 12:21, 1 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]
