    Before requesting, read the protection policy. Full protection is used to stop edit warring between multiple users or to prevent vandalism to high-risk templates; semi-protection and pending changes are usually used to prevent IP and new user vandalism (see the rough guide to semi-protection); and move protection is used to stop pagemove revert wars. Extended confirmed protection is used where semi-protection has proved insufficient (see the rough guide to extended confirmed protection)

    After a page has been protected, it is listed in the page history and logs with a short rationale, and the article is listed on Special:Protectedpages. In the case of full protection due to edit warring, admins should not revert to specific versions of the page, except to get rid of obvious vandalism.

    Reason: Requesting semi-protection on all subpages. Long term IP editor abuse (not following guidelines, many WP:FRINGE and WP:OR additions, many warnings). I've seen other editors float WP:STARTOVER or deleting the pages altogether, but personally I think there is value in the project and would prefer not to throw the baby out with the bathwater. Since December 2024 lots of IP addresses have been adding idiotic content for no discernable reason. While the user themself probably doesn't care, this is still being used as a playground for vandalism and at least one of the IPs has vandalised elsewhere. Semi-protecting it would put a stop to the vandalism here and might discourage it spreading. Even in the unlikely event that the user returns, the semi-protection should not cause them any trouble.
