Welcome—request protection of a page, file, or template here. | |
---|---|
Before requesting, read the protection policy. Full protection is used to stop edit warring between multiple users or to prevent vandalism to high-risk templates; semi-protection and pending changes are usually used to prevent IP and new user vandalism (see the rough guide to semi-protection); and move protection is used to stop pagemove revert wars. Extended confirmed protection is used where semi-protection has proved insufficient (see the rough guide to extended confirmed protection) After a page has been protected, it is listed in the page history and logs with a short rationale, and the article is listed on Special:Protectedpages. In the case of full protection due to edit warring, admins should not revert to specific versions of the page, except to get rid of obvious vandalism. Reason: Requesting semi-protection on all subpages. Long term IP editor abuse (not following guidelines, many WP:FRINGE and WP:OR additions, many warnings). I've seen other editors float WP:STARTOVER or deleting the pages altogether, but personally I think there is value in the project and would prefer not to throw the baby out with the bathwater. Tule-hog (talk) 04:31, 24 February 2025 (UTC)
- If this is a too broad of a request, I would specify WP:RA/BAE and WP:RA/PAG and their subpages. May not be justified on all of WP:RA, but IP users have a tendency to just find another unprotected subpage. Tule-hog (talk) 04:40, 24 February 2025 (UTC)
- (This was already done for Wikipedia:Requested articles/Biography/By profession motivated by same reasoning as this request: "Persistent disruptive editing: persistent failure to follow entry criteria by unregistered user; has been unpreventable by pending changes setting".) - when alms are great, the saint is suspicious. If you think you're the owner of the RA's, why not probe with source? 2804:14C:5BB1:9473:17D:2677:71C7:53CD (talk) 06:41, 24 February 2025 (UTC)
Not done A protection request this sweeping really should be taken to AN. Daniel Case (talk) 22:25, 24 February 2025 (UTC)
- @Daniel Case: Removed my old reply, as on thorough overview of WP:RA, it really seems like WP:RA/BAE is an exceptional case in terms of its unmoderation. Should I still make an AN, or is this condensed enough to consider here? Tule-hog (talk) 22:54, 24 February 2025 (UTC)
- I don't know ... that's still an awful lot of pages, and myself and the other admins who regularly review this page and respond to these requests have our hands full just dealing with it as it is. I'm sure a lot of other admins might not mind taking the time to do something special, though. Daniel Case (talk) 23:10, 24 February 2025 (UTC)

Indefinite semi-protection: Persistent vandalism – This is the User Talk page of a user who has not edited Wikipedia since 2010. Since December 2024 lots of IP addresses have been adding idiotic content for no discernable reason. While the user themself probably doesn't care, this is still being used as a playground for vandalism and at least one of the IPs has vandalised elsewhere. Semi-protecting it would put a stop to the vandalism here and might discourage it spreading. Even in the unlikely event that the user returns, the semi-protection should not cause them any trouble. - 2025 United States federal mass layoffs (edit | talk | history | links | watch | logs)
Reason: Politically contentious topic. America is undergoing a political upheaval, and we need to speak the truth. As such, we need to protect this page (and others related to the current administration and its policies) as a precautionary measure. RedDeadGuy (talk) 00:21, 25 February 2025 (UTC)
Current requests for reduction in protection level
Before posting, first discuss with the protecting admin on their talk page. Post below only if you receive no reply.
- To find out the username of the admin who protected the page, click on "history" at the top of the page, then click on "View logs for this page," which is under the title of the page. The protecting admin is the username in blue before the words "protected", "changed protection level" or "pending changes". If there are a number of entries on the log page, you might find it easier to select "Protection log" or "Pending changes log" from the dropdown menu in the blue box.
- Requests to downgrade full protection to template protection on templates and modules can be directed straight here; you do not need to ask the protecting admin first.
- Requests for removing create protection on redlinked articles are generally assisted by having a draft version of the intended article prepared beforehand.
- If you want to make spelling corrections or add uncontroversial information to a protected page, please add {{Edit fully-protected}} to the article's talk page, along with an explanation of what you want to add to the page. If the talk page is protected, please use the section below.
Check the archives if you cannot find your request. Only recently answered requests are still listed here.

Reason: There have not been any vandalism of this page for a long time. Protection is unecessary at this time Trade (talk) 15:10, 24 February 2025 (UTC)
- @Trade The lack of vandalism is likely due to the current protection. Given that the article subject is currently in the news due to his recent court appearance and trending on social media, an unprotect would be unwise at this time. --Ahecht (TALK

Current requests for edits to a protected page
Please request an edit directly on the protected page's talk page before posting here
Ideally, requests should be made on the article talk page rather than here.
- Unless the talk page itself is protected, you may instead add the appropriate template among
{{Edit protected}}
,{{Edit template-protected}}
,{{Edit extended-protected}}
, or{{Edit semi-protected}}
to the article's talk page if you would like to make a change rather than requesting it here. Doing so will automatically place the page in the appropriate category for the request to be reviewed. - Where requests are made due to the editor having a conflict of interest (COI; see Wikipedia:Suggestions for COI compliance), the
{{Edit COI}}
template should be used. - Requests to move move-protected pages should be made at Wikipedia:Requested moves, not here.
- If the discussion page and the article are both protected preventing you from making an edit request, this page is the right place to make that request. Please see the top of this page for instructions on how to post requests.
- This page is not for continuing or starting discussions regarding content should both an article and its discussion page be protected. Please make a request only if you have a specific edit you wish to make.
- Seventh-day Adventist Church (edit | talk | history | links | watch | logs)
In Patriarchs and Prophets, p. 38 she clearly states that Christ was divine from eternity.
"There had been no change in the position or authority of Christ. Lucifer's envy and misrepresentation and his claims to equality with Christ had made necessary a statement of the true position of the Son of God; but this had been the same from the beginning. Many of the angels were, however, blinded by Lucifer's deceptions." 47.176.191.146 (talk) 06:33, 24 February 2025 (UTC)
