Coaching career

After retiring as a player, Crarey moved into coaching. He had coaching spells at amateur clubs Dalton and Walney Central before being appointed as head coach at Barrow Raiders in October 2005.[6]

Crarey departed Barrow at the end of the 2007 season and became head coach at Whitehaven, but was forced to step down in March 2008 for health reasons.[7]

He subsequently returned to coaching at amateur level for a few years before re-joining Barrow for a second spell in 2014.[8][9]
