Dicken's last words. Not convinced this is a useful redirect over e.g. On the Ground, though I can see a WP:SMALLDIFFS argument. Google hits are the song and the occasional reference to "on the ground" either physically or metaphorically ("boots on the ground"). Rusalkii (talk) 23:33, 7 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Retarget to On The Ground. In my humble opinion, redirects that are textually similar to a specific and easily defined topic but have slightly different capitalization or punctuation should not point to MOS:EASTEREGG topics on the basis of obscure cultural references. That's what the Googles are for. Carguychris (talk) 16:38, 8 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete per the period/full stop that does not exist in any title on Wikipedia, in addition to there being precedent to delete redirects like this (period/full stop at the end) throughout the years via other RfD discussions. Steel1943 (talk) 14:10, 10 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete, unlikely to be navigated to. No evidence that people search for people based on their last words anyway, much less by searching in a structured & punctuated sentence over other terms that are far more plausible and less surprising locations such as On The Ground. Which doesn't have affinity for the period, so it should be deleted. Utopes (talk / cont) 13:31, 11 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was keep. Significa liberdade (she/her) (talk) 08:17, 15 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

to my surprise, that term seems to refer mostly to a type of table used to transfer sheet metal (hell, results didn't even give me anything related to balls). don't think there's a particularly good target for that, since sheet metal doesn't mention those tables, so... consarn (speak evil) (see evil) 20:25, 7 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Keep per this Merriam-Webster entry. Also create a redirect for Pin-table. I am bad at usernames (talk) 22:52, 7 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
this case got really funny from a slightly longer search, because it seems dictionaries (merriam-webster, oxford, this weird thing called wiktionary, etc.) aren't far from being the only things still referring to that specific meaning. nearly all other results i got involved the aforementioned tables, tables with pins, and tables with pins (test points, in this case). then again, dictionaries are higher-tier in the reliability department than table manufacturing companies, so meh
also, "pintable" seems to see some use as an adjective (somehow. can pint even be used as a verb?), but it's obscure, so my mention begins and ends at the quick chuckle i got out of it. then again, it might have just been a misspelling of "puntable" consarn (speak evil) (see evil) 12:25, 10 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Keep as I_am_bad_at_usernames says. If and when an article here addresses the sheet-metal-related usage, then we can disambiguate, but we are not in the habit of "pre-disambiguating" without a viable target just because someone can imagine a reader somewhere has another idea in mind.  — SMcCandlish ¢ 😼  00:30, 8 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

User:Turd

I don't know if this counts as ragpicking, but no user exists of this name, and this redirect doesn't appear to be constructive (although it was created by the user themselves). There was a user with this name that was blocked with no edits, so U2 does not apply. Delete. -1ctinus📝🗨 19:55, 7 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Potentially important and notable concept. Not mentioned in the target article (main article about sport at all). Disambiguate between Ma On Shan line, East–West Corridor, North–South and East–West Corridor, Blue Line (Lucknow Metro), and Blue Line (Ahmedabad Metro). Duckmather (talk) 17:13, 7 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
  • Disambiguate (drafted) per Duckmather. Punctuation is a terrible WP:SMALLDETAIL to rely upon for distinguishing two topics of the same general type, particularly when the punctuation is not consistent in WP:RS (e.g HK news sources using dashes [1][2], Trinidad sources using slashes [3][4]). 59.149.117.119 (talk) 00:08, 14 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Aenona

This was the ancient name of this settlement, but it is also the name of an extinct genus. Given that this name is no longer in use, I believe the genus would be a primary topic here, and thus this redirect should be deleted as REDYES (a hatnote can be placed on the article for the genus when it is eventually created). There are incoming links for both meanings, so some will need to be fixed. — Anonymous 23:10, 30 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguate between Nin and Tellinidae, where I just added the genus Aenona (mollusc). WP:PRIMARYRED says that the situation is treated as if there is no primary topic until the red-linked article is written. jlwoodwa (talk) 23:24, 30 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguate. Looking at the results of Google Scholar and Google Books searches, I wouldn't say I'm convinced that the genus is the primary topic (there are plenty of hits for the town, seemingly more than for the genus), though I also don't think the town is clearly the primary topic. As such, disambiguating seems the best course of action to me, per the second bullet point at WP:PRIMARYRED. – Michael Aurel (talk) 02:00, 15 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Currently redirects to 529 plan. College does not just exist in the United States though, even if the cost of tuition there means that people are more likely to set a savings fund early. Anyone have better target ideas? Or a rationale for why it should stay the way it is? Clovermoss🍀 (talk) 22:59, 30 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete. The phrase is ambiguous. Could it refer to money a parent saves for their kids? (Can't find an article for that.) Could it refer to funds given to colleges to use for various reasons? (There's probably an article for that which is WP:BIAS-neutral per geography, but I couldn't find one.) In other words, there's no guarantee a reader is looking for this target at all, and there are other plausible subjects a reader could be looking for. (If any other targets are found, consider thus vote either a "retarget" or "disambiguate", depending on the amount of other articles found.) Steel1943 (talk) 22:40, 31 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was keep. There was some support for the nomination of retargeting to the disambiguation page, with one argument considering it equivalent to the Austin (city) redirect. No prejudice against a new bundled nomination. Jay 💬 19:11, 25 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

There are multiple cities named Austin, so I suggest either retargeting to Austin#United States or at least adding this term in a hatnote to there. Duckmather (talk) 06:01, 31 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

A Sam

Not mentioned at target and could also refer to a lot of other things (eg Sam (given name)), so maybe delete? Duckmather (talk) 05:27, 31 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@Duckmather: I noted that it was from http://www.doe.k12.ga.us/Curriculum-Instruction-and-Assessment/Special-Education-Services/Documents/Year%20of%20age%20cohorts%20chart.pdf but unfortunately the link is not only dead, but seems to have never been archived. The fact that RNZ used this abbreviation shows that it is valid. Anyhow I support BD2412's retargeting of the redirect. Then the abbreviation can be mentioned in Asam WhisperToMe (talk) 12:41, 4 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

This Sunday is Super Bowl 59 and we only have articles up to Super Bowl 62. The numbering of Super Bowls won't enter 3 digits, at this pace, for another 38 years. Additionally, they're simply never written or marketed with anything other than the appropriate number of digits. These are unlikely search terms based on this and should be deleted.
