 UVAS project was concieved and devlopoed by one of the Alumni of College of Veterinary Sciences(CVS) namely Dr.Syed Wajid H.Pirzada,who was then associated with Federal Ministry of Food,Agriculture & Livestock as Consultant/Technical Advisor.

The project was in principle approved during the tenure of Shaheed Banzir Bhutto's premiership as ZAB Unversity of Veterinary Medicine,proposed to be established after upgradation of College of Veterinary Sciences,Lahore.
