Paula Inocencia Cofresí Silverstain (Patillas, Puerto Rico, 13 february 1946) she is an artist and psicotherapist from Puerto Rico, living in Chicago, USA, she is known as Paula Cofresí. She works in Evanston, Illinois, as ceramist.[1]

Education

She studied High School in her city Puerto Rico, and got a Bachelor in Arts Education//Elementary & Secondary in the American University, San German, Puerto Rico. Se moved to New York in 1968 and studied Ceramics in the Hyde Park Art Center. In the years 1970-1973 studied Ceramic and Etching in the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. 1995-2013 studied Ceramic in the Eau Visual Art Center on Maui, Hawaii. In 2003 studied Ceramics at Oakton Community College Illinois.[2]Master in Social Work at the Illinois University, Chicago.[citation needed]

Work

She directed Mandala MakingWorkshop in Columbia College Chicago during 15 years.[citation needed]

In 1996 after doing a workshop with Dr. Jean Husto, started creating a series of small sculpture denominated Diosas, Goddess Sculpture.[citation needed]

At the Evanston Art Center, in Chicago show her work the year 2023, with the title The naacp celebrates black artists.[3][4]

Member Coordinador in Evanston Mental Health Practitioners, 1990. Organiced Hispanic Teen Services Network 1994. Member of the National Association Social Work, Academy Certifed Social Workers, Illinois Association School Social Workers.
