Nadezhda Sergeyevna Grishayeva (Russian: Надежда Сергеевна Гришаева; born 2 July 1989 in Leningrad) is a Russian professional basketball player.[1] She plays for Russia women's national basketball team. She competed in the 2012 Summer Olympics.[2] She is 1.95 m (6 ft 5 in) tall.
Career
Grishaeva began her professional basketball career in Russia, playing for various domestic teams between 2006 and 2011. In the 2011–12 season, she played for the French club Arras before returning to Russia to join Dynamo Moscow from 2012 to 2014, primarily as a power forward and center.[1] In 2014, she sustained an injury that temporarily affected her playing career.[3][4] She later joined the Turkish club Beşiktaş for the 2015–16 season before returning to Dynamo Moscow in 2016.[5] Internationally, she was a member of the Russian national team and competed in the 2012 Summer Olympics in London.[6][7][8]
Following her retirement from professional basketball, Grishaeva started her career in entrepreneurship. In May 2021, she founded Anvil Fitness Club in Moscow, a fitness center that offering sports and wellness services.[9] By its third anniversary in May 2024, the facility had grown to over 1,500 members.[10] Grishaeva has described the club as integrating elements of design and atmosphere to enhance the fitness experience.[3] In March 2024, she announced plans to expand her fitness business with a new facility, though further details were not disclosed.[11][12]
Grishaeva has also been involved in basketball development initiatives. She has collaborated with the Sole Ball Above All project, which organizes basketball leagues, coaching programs, and tournaments. She has also announced plans to establish a basketball academy in the Middle East aimed at supporting player development in the region.[10][5]
In addition to her career in sports and fitness, Grishaeva has been involved in modeling.[10]
