Dude you cooked

you quite possibly told the anti-BFDI people here that they are just biased banning all mentions of BFDI or the OSC in general, I get and understand why BFDI has no wikipedia page, but banning all mentions of the series is clear bias. You get my full endorsement. AmericanAccount704 (talk) 00:42, 5 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, ZestySourBoy! Thank you for your civil participation on Wikipedia discussions concerning BFDI. Just wanted to state, though, that the writer of the "And the band played on" essay was not just some "random user"; JzG is a pretty well-respected former administrator who is still active. I agree the essay is not a good argument for non-inclusion of an article, but please don't use language that may be interpreted as disparaging an editor. I didn't want to reply to you so as not to sidetrack the discussion. Thanks, and happy editing! ObserveOwl (talk) 14:08, 1 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Oh sorry, I didn't realise JzG was a former admin. I still agree that the "And the band played on" essay isn't a good essay to be throwing around in these kinds of discussions, as shown in it's usage in that discussion as a gotcha to never make pages for things that have had frequent page creation attempts or for things that have very slowly gained notability over many years, most of that essay's point is actually now ironically covered by WP:BFDI or if it isn't could easily be folded into WP:BFDI. Regardless of that though I did not mean for my comment to come across as insulting to JzG and I apologise for how it came across. ZestySourBoy (talk) 16:09, 1 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Assuming that oppose was serious, I think it misread the essay, but that's not important.
ZestySourBoy, I want to mention something else: You are what we call a WP:SPA. And that's fine, afaict you're not WP:DISRUPTIVE. But my advice, worth it's weight in diamonds, is to edit a bit more widely, to get a broader understanding of WP and how it works. I also think one enjoys editing WP more if one is not hyper-focused on one specific subject one is passionate about. You may or may not find something interesting scrolling Wikipedia:Dashboard. Happy editing! Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 08:06, 2 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I have been trying to learn Wikipedia's workings, and I've been reading Wikipedia since I was a child. Depending on free time I will see if I can do editing on other pages but I don't have much free time. I've been here because I wanted to essentially be a liaison between the OSC and Wikipedians, someone who can want BFDI on Wikipedia and all that but also someone who edits for Fandom wikis and deeply respects Wikipedia and so can understand and abide by the rules of Wikipedia. Thanks for the advice though, I will keep this in mind. And please inform me if I ever am being disruptive or it I ever do something wrong, as I said I very much respect Wikipedia.
