Talk:My Bloody Valentine (band)

Discography POV

Current version starts the band's "albums" in 1988, even though they released their first in 1985 and second in 1987. The omission of these albums reflects a preference among fans of the group's later work who don't really care for the band's early material. This POV is reflected in MBV's album articles as well, with opening lines like, "Isn't Anything the debut full-length studio album by My Bloody Valentine." These editorial choices serve to obscure the group's earlier albums, which, though shorter in length, are still albums and should be included in this article’s discography section. Not sure if anyone else will see this, and it's a few years late, but I mostly agree with the above user. Technically, This Is Your Bloody Valentine and Ecstasy are mini-albums, but they are major releases in the band's chronology, and thus they should be included. A small efn style note can be used for both, which can say "released as a mini-album". For other examples, see the Discography lists at Nine Inch Nails (3 EPs), The Beatles (1 EP and 1 compilation), Led Zeppelin (1 compilation), etc etc etc. Xanarki (talk) 00:23, 6 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

MBV are Irish-English, not Irish.

Hello, this is my first time doing this and I have no idea what I'm doing. The issue is, if we count Shields as Irish, half of the band's original members are English and half Irish. Therefore it is an Irish-English band. However when I correct 'Irish band' to 'Irish-English band' someone keeps changing it back. Please help, thanks, 2A00:23C8:1000:5C01:B5A6:9611:DF54:383E (talk) 16:52, 20 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Over three years later the description is continuing to be incorrectly changed from Irish-English to Irish. 2A00:23C8:1023:2D01:5DCE:FB80:2FF:D65B (talk) 22:38, 11 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
They are of course Irish-English. Kevin and Colm are Irish, Debbie and Bilinda are English. Obviously. Just removed a bunch of sources from the lead sentences that implied that this was not plain fact. Thanks OP. Ceoil (talk) 06:39, 30 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Timeline

The timeline lists an EP line in 1995. Either the timeline is wrong, or the discography is wrong - maybe an old bootleg was being referenced? I'm only 90% sure I'm right here and am not remotely a frequent editor, leaving this for a more experienced hand. 96.27.27.76 (talk) 19:38, 8 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
