- True. Dead meat. Article should be updated. Source: Israel's military confirms killing of Lebanon Hezbollah's Hashem Safieddine. לידך, בלעדייך (talk) 20:13, 22 October 2024 (UTC)
- Obviously this is a major embarrassment for Hezbollah, so it may take a while for them to confirm his death. Or they may not confirm it at all, however he is dead. לידך, בלעדייך (talk) 21:08, 22 October 2024 (UTC)
- He is already dead, there is no need for Hezbollah to confirm this, but some Arab nationalists exaggerate the situation and claim that he is not dead and edit, this is absolutely wrong, the same thing happened to Mohammed Deif 24.133.152.195 (talk) 21:26, 22 October 2024 (UTC)
- It was confirmed by many news outlets, seems editors don’t wanna confirm it yet 178.250.251.35 (talk) 21:32, 22 October 2024 (UTC)
Hello, can someone change Hashim safielddin status in Hezbollah page from MIA (Missing in action) to KIA (Killed in Action) as his death was confirmed, thanks 102.41.40.138 (talk) 22:47, 22 October 2024 (UTC)

Hello, I suggest changing {{Hezbollah}} to {{Hezbollah|people}} instead. GuesanLoyalist (talk) 01:16, 11 October 2025 (UTC)
Merge proposal
Merge Assassination of Hashem Safieddine into Hashem Safieddine. Much of the content is WP:REDUNDANT. It's been over a year. The event received routine news coverage befitting the assassination of the leader of a militant figure. He was then replaced and history went on. It didn't changed the course of the war or regional dynamics. Compare with the level and depth of coverage and analysis of the 2024 Hezbollah headquarters strike or the assassination of Qasem Soleimani. Hardly WP:LASTING effects and no need for a separate page. - Strongly Oppose – This was the assassination of Hezbollah's Number 2 leader (actually, probably the de-facto leader) at the time, and it also took out several other high-ranking Hezbollah leaders. It's notable enough for its own article. The current state of the article is more due to a lack of effort than a lack of sources covering the subject. On that note, I would say that Wikipedia needs more articles on these kinds of military strikes and special operations (such as the one that took out ISIL's second leader, Abu Ibrahim al-Hashimi al-Qurashi), not less. - Support per WP:PAGEDECIDE. This is a major aspect of Safieddine's biography, so the only justification for it to be separate would be if the article was so long the info wouldn't fit. Thebiguglyalien (talk) 🛸 22:03, 1 January 2026 (UTC)
- Oppose per above given the subject's notability and their role within Hezbollah. Skitash (talk) 19:18, 4 March 2026 (UTC)
