Comment: An emeritus Professor is likely to pass WP:NPROF, but your draft is almost all just a list of 'stuff'. However, I am about to resubmit it on your behalf and tag it for improvement, based up his listed achievements. 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 09:36, 13 March 2025 (UTC)
- The article is considered a "biography". I wonder if it is a good idea to also mention other affiliations. I worked in The Netherlands for a research foundation laboratory and for an industrial research laboratory before I became a professor. The full biography can be found in detail in the emeriti website of the university. https://www.emeriti-tueindhoven.nl/prof-g-d-djan-khoe-1946. So it may be sufficient to mention that I had several affiliations and place the link in the article. Just giving the link without further text may be the most compact way to present the "biography". Comment: could you work on improving the article format please? i.e put it in some sections, probably. ANUwrites 08:55, 7 May 2024 (UTC)
- May I (Djan Khoe) ask an editor to add more category items ? Those are related to the subject of the research mentioned in the article: optical telecommunications, fiber optics, plastic optical fiber, optical devices, optical components, photonics Khoe0005 (talk) 12:57, 31 October 2025 (UTC)
Corrected: Article contains links to other articles
I was given a suggestion to add links to other articles, saying that this was an orphan article with no links, but it has 4 links in it. I'm not sure how to remove the tag. DarkKholi (talk) 13:31, 13 March 2025 (UTC)
- @DarkKholi Orphans have no parents, they may have children. The orphan tag refers to the lack of incoming links. 🇵🇸🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦🇵🇸 07:06, 2 April 2025 (UTC)
- @Timtrent Oh! Thanks for the clarification. DarkKholi (talk) 14:54, 2 April 2025 (UTC)
- I understand that DarkKholi stated that my article has 4 links in it. May I ask you to remove the tag stating that my article is an orphan ? Khoe0005 (talk) 21:15, 4 April 2025 (UTC)
- I found a website that has a link towards this article (https://www.emeriti-tueindhoven.nl/prof-g-d-djan-khoe-1946), so it is not an orphan anymore. Khoe0005 (talk) 14:01, 7 April 2025 (UTC)
- No, Khoe0005. The incoming link needs to be from another Wikipedia article, not from an off-Wikipedia website. Cullen328 (talk) 17:57, 8 April 2025 (UTC)
- Thanks for the hint. What is the point to state that an article is an orphan ? Many articles are orphans by this definition and I assume that it is not an issue. Khoe0005 (talk) 18:59, 8 April 2025 (UTC)
- No, Khoe0005. The incoming link needs to be from another Wikipedia article, not from an off-Wikipedia website. Cullen328 (talk) 17:57, 8 April 2025 (UTC)
COI tag (April 2025)
A major editor shares the name of the subject of the article 🇵🇸🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦🇵🇸 21:27, 1 April 2025 (UTC)
I will stop editing. The editors asked to add more categories, citations and links and I was trying to fix that. When I started editing I received a lot of encouragements to continue. I had difficulties editing at the beginning but found out how to do that. I hope that the article will not be deleted because of my actions. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Khoe0005 (talk • contribs) 06:57, 2 April 2025 (UTC)
- @Khoe0005 the community will determine whether it is deleted. It is your apparent WP:COI which is the challenge. 🇵🇸🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦🇵🇸 18:13, 2 April 2025 (UTC)
- A Japanese Professor told me last month that he launched a wiki article for me. I saw that inputs are welcomed for more categories, citations and links. I could have asked the Japanese Professor to work for me but I know that he is extremely busy. So I tried to do that myself. I know that it is not a good idea to launch your own wiki article but I was not aware that it is also not a good idea to provide updates for myself (why not ?). My inputs were not subjective at all, I submitted categories, citations to a book and a link to an emeriti website at the Eindhoven University Khoe0005 (talk) 09:02, 3 April 2025 (UTC)
- Question: Is it a problem if the subject of an article submits an update ? Khoe0005 (talk) 17:45, 3 April 2025 (UTC)
- I understand looking at the COI discussion that the nomination to delete my article has been withdrawn but it still shows on my page ? Khoe0005 (talk) 20:21, 3 April 2025 (UTC)

Career section Djan Khoe
Question to Max Wu. I see that you added a career section in the article. In the Dutch article the editor placed a text about COBRA (COmmunication technologies, Basic Research and Applications), a research center based in Eindhoven. Djan Khoe is the initiator of that. The Dutch editor put as reference a link to a magazine article of the TU Eindhoven (Cursor). I realized that the Cursor article is in English. Hence this information can also be used for the English version ? If so, may I ask you to put that in place ? Khoe0005 (talk) 10:46, 13 November 2025 (UTC)
Add publications ?
Hi Jevansen, I recently found two publications that may be interesting for the article. One publications is about my Master Thesis work, published in the Proceedings of the IEEE, the top journal of IEEE. Another publication is about a world record with a silica optical fiber transmission, a result obtained in collaboration with Philips. Both have recently been included in the NL article. Citation needed
I understood from IEEE that no citation is available for " 2012: IEEE Life Fellow ". So please feel free to remove this item. Khoe0005 (talk) 22:21, 26 January 2026 (UTC)
