- Italy draws 1-1 with the United States, in a game which sees Italy's Daniele de Rossi and Americans Pablo Mastroeni and Eddie Pope sent off.
- Ghana defeats the Czech Republic 2-0.
- Portugal qualifies for the last 16 by beating Iran 2-0. The result also means that Iran cannot proceed to the last 16.
- Mexico and Angola draw 0-0. Mexico leads Group D but could still be eliminated. Angola remains scoreless after two games.
- Netherlands defeats Côte d'Ivoire 2-1. The result ensures that Netherlands and Argentina will go forward to the second round, and that Côte d'Ivoire and Serbia and Montenegro will not find a place in the last 16.
