I've seen this described as a Three-center four-electron bond, but I'm not convinced. Pimentel's work is very old. Is there anything more modern? Do look this up and change it if you're sure that I am wrong.

Regarding the square brackets, they really don't belong here. They are used for transition metal complexes like [Ni(NH₃)₆]²⁺ because otherwise there would be two lots of round brackets. Where there is no ambiguity it's better to leave the brackets out. Check out the autoionisation equation , p816, Greenwood & Earnshaw.

My other objection is that square brackets are used to denote concentration in the context of chemical equilibrium, so again leave them out if they don't really add anything.

Are you really sure about 3c-4e bonding? My doubts are 1) the diagram in the article shows a p orbital on the central atom; surely the H 2p is much too high energy? 2) All that stuff about hypervalent is quite superceded. In those days they were a bit fixated by the octet rule. PX₅ uses 3d which are not as far above 3p in P(V) as in lower oxidation states, and the octet rule does not apply. I only have access to SciFinder if I go in to the University, so it's not easy for me to search for the results of any recent calculations.Petergans 22:01, 14 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I moved the EPR article from Electron Spin Resonance to Electron Paramagnetic Resonance, since about 99% of the time it referred to EPR and not ESR. Take a look when you have a moment. They were not made up dude! Im new to this and struggled with the programming to site references correctly. Real Samba FC was an ameteur team like the thousands listed on Wikipedia, they achievements were locally lauded and anyone living in the midlands of the UK would know who both Real Samba FC and Chris Jackson were. I know you didnt delete the Chris Jackson page but just because Google doesnt bring anything major up it doesnt mean they are non notable. Google aint the bible of all history of all time! I often see edits on my watchlist where you bracket up previously naked ions.

Would it be worth drafting a guideline on the use of such brackets for Wikipedia:WikiProject Chemicals/Style guidelines?

It would give WP chemists a chance to discuss the issue, and would provide novices like me a clear explanation of when to use this style, and why it is preferable.

I'm dropping you a note to let you know that I have removed the speedy deletion template that you placed on Dissident Warwick because the article does not seem to fit the speedy deletion criterion. While the article certainly doesn't do much to assert notability, WP:CSD#A7 is specifically for people (grouped or individuals) or web content. People's products, like books and albums, are explicitly excluded, so I'm afraid that it cannot apply to a magazine. Please consider other means for addressing ongoing concerns. You have nominated the above article for speedy under G11 (in my view correctly). However, the article's creator, User:Msbfreaky keeps removing the tag and already has done so 4 times. I think he already violated the 3RR rule and I left a message at his talk page. Hello, I posted an entry for Toronto band, "The Artist Life" this afternoon.

Although they are yet unsigned, this band has garnered notable recognition and play on major rock radio station Edge 102.1fm (including their award for best new artist) as well as medium rotation of their debut video for the single "Waiting Room" on Canada's Much Music.

Their list of former bands is, as well, quite impressive, including EMI recording artists, JERSEY (band) with ties to major Canadian acts, Alexis On Fire, & The Saint Alvia Cartel.

I wish to formally request the reinstatement of The Artist Life wikipedia page.

I don't understand why my article on The Present (2009 film) has been deleted. The A7 criteria specifically excludes products of people (such as books, albums, etc) are excluded and I would assume the etc. would include films. Anyways, the article should be considered notable because the lead actor has worked with famous musicians such as Britney Spears and Mariah Carey and one of the co-stars, George Nozuka is a current R&B singer in Canada with #1 singles to his credit. I would like to have my article reposted or at least an explanation of why it was "speedily deleted". Thank you.

I am confused as to why my article on Jacob Ginsberg continues to be deleted. It was deleted once by you and twice by that Gogo Dodo character. He absolutely meets the criteria for a notable person, especially in the New Orleans area- the city's newspaper even wrote a front page article on the guy! How is he not considered notable? He's a great person and deserves to be noted on Wikipedia. If Peter Morreale III, a no-name member of the Tulane University football team who hasn't seen any playing time (nor will he ever) has a Wikipedia page, then Jacob should have his own as well. He is a very notable person, and it just isn't fair.

For the record, he meets the criteria of a "creative professional". He is considered an important figure and has been cited by his successors with the Zephyrs as influential, as well as by several members of the team's front office and multiple well-known fans at the park. He isn't necessarily considered an originator of a new technique, but his dependability and hard-working manner are the reason why the Zephyrs made the role of the batboy an actual job, rather than some little kid who gets to be the "honorary batboy" and changes from one game to the next. He has also been noted in many different periodicals for his work, with the most important being that of the Times Picayune, New Orleans' prime newspaper. Please talk to me and tell me why he isn't important!

Thank you for your quick response. sorry for accusing you of that deletion, I'm relatively new to Wikipedia, so I'm still learning what stuff means and does. I tried to leave a post on Gogo Dodo's talk page, but it has been semi-protected, and since I just recently joined, it will not allow me to post anything. As for Jacob Ginsberg's notability, I included three references, two of which are from the website nola.com, which is where all articles from the Times Picayune are placed on the internet and from which most of the information in the article is derived. There are other human sources I've spoken with on Jacob's behalf, but I don't know exactly how to reference humans on here just yet.

I have no recollection of making the post about being a social worker. When I examined the origin of this it appears that the post was made by someone else using my wikipedia name on 19 April 2009 at 14:47 but signing it with my name at 08:19 I have aroused some controversy with my views on the BNP talk page amongst an explicitly racist sub section of the wiki community and I assume that this is a result of that, particularly as 86.143.99.30 (talk) has no proper identifier. A little digging shows that 'Cardice' is the market name used by Air Liquide UK Ltd (see here). There are also published sources that refer to it as "card ice", which is presumably a corruption but still an abbreviation of CARbon Dioxide ICE. I've updated the article to reflect this.

I added a See Also link to the Book of Lies by Crowley, see chapter 69 of the book, actually an important incident in Crowley's life occurred because of this. I'm unfamiliar with what you're implying what was discussed on my talk page. The order of conclusions are as follows:

I agreed to cease changing the chembox headers to IUPAC names by User:Smokefoot's request. I initiated to insert IUPAC names in the other names category. I agreed to cease inserting IUPAC names in latter category and iniated to create redirect pages instead by Smokefoot's recommendation. Following persistent interferrence by User:Tetracube, I ceased to create redirect pages, and initiated adding alternative IUPAC names in the article spaces.
