The discography of the Glee Cast, performers from the American musical comedy-drama television series Glee, contains three soundtrack albums, two extended plays and ninety singles.
The group's debut album, Glee: The Music, Volume 1, was released by Columbia Records in the United States in November 2009. The album peaked at number four on the US Billboard 200, and was certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). The album was certified platinum in Australia by the Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA) and the United Kingdom by the British Phonographic Industry (BPI). It has been certified gold in Canada by the Canadian Recording Industry Association (CRIA). Their debut single, "Don't Stop Believin'", a cover of the 1981 Journey song, reached number two in the United Kingdom; the song also peaked at number four in the US and Ireland.
In December 2009 the group released their second album, Glee: The Music, Volume 2, which reached number one in New Zealand, peaked at number three in the United States and five in Canada, and has been certified gold by the RIAA and ARIA. In 2010, the next two releases—extended play Glee: The Music, The Power of Madonna and third album Glee: The Music, Volume 3 Showstoppers—both debuted at the number one position on the American and Canadian album charts. With the releases reaching number one in America four weeks apart, the Glee Cast beat the record previously set by The Beatles in 1966 for shortest span between first weeks at number one.[1] A second EP, Glee: The Music, Journey to Regionals was released on June 8, 2010. All of the songs featured on each album and EP, excluding bonus tracks and Journey to Regionals, were released as singles. In 2009, the group had 25 singles chart on the Billboard Hot 100, the most by any artist since The Beatles had 31 songs in the chart in 1964.[2] By June 2010, the cast were second behind The Beatles, yet again, for most chart appearances by a group act in the Hot 100's 52-year history.[3]
