What is the President_of_Indonesia#Unofficial_list? Were these people actually president or not? I don't understand - please explain. AndrewRT(Talk) 23:47, 12 May 2009 (UTC) |

:I don't know where the expressions "official" and "unoficial" list came from. Syarifuddin Prawiranegara was the acting president of the Emergency Government of the Republic of Indonesia, established in Sumatra in December 1948 on orders from Sukarno after he and most of the government were captured by the Dutch, who were fighting to regain control of their former colony. In July 1949, Sukarno was freed and became president again. In December 1949, the Republic of Indonesia became one of 16 member states in a federal United States of Indonesia (RIS). Sukarno became president of the RIS, so Assaat became acting president of the Republic of Indonesia until the RIS was dissolved in August 1950 and the unitary (and current) Republic of Indonesia was reestablished, whereupon Sukarno became president of it. I'm not happy with the "official" and "unofficial" lists as it is not clear who or what makes them so. This makes the distinction uncited at best and WP:OR at worst. Perhaps footnotes and/or parentheses would be clearer... Davidelit (talk) 07:36, 13 May 2009 (UTC) |
