Shark is an American legal drama, which premiered on CBS on September 21 2006. The series stars James Woods as Sebastian Stark, a notorious Los Angeles defense attorney who becomes a prosecutor. The show first aired in the 10:00 p.m., Eastern Thursday night slot and the pilot was directed by Spike Lee.
History
On October 20, 2006, it was announced that CBS had picked up the show for a full 22-episode season.[1] CBS announced on May 16, 2007 that Shark would return for a second season.[2]
In Shark's second season, it moved to Sunday night at 10:00 p.m., switching timeslots with Without a Trace and thereby competing against another highly-rated series, ABC's Brothers & Sisters. In Canada, Global had also picked up Brothers & Sisters, so they decided to keep Shark on Thursday 10 p.m. timeslot, 3 days ahead of the CBS broadcast (except for the Season 2 premiere), and Brothers & Sisters for their Sunday night 10 p.m. timeslot.
The show returned on Tuesday April 29, 2008 in a new timeslot at 9:00 to air the four remaining post-strike episodes. [3]
The show airs in Ireland on RTÉ One on Saturday nights. Season one has already aired and the channel broke for a hiatus due to the writers strike on 3 May 2008, after airing the season 2 episode, "Partners In Crime".

Visual in-references
In episode four, during an exterior shot of a hotel right before a scene where Casey and Raina question a bartender, a bus with an ad for Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip passes in front of the camera. CBS had previously lost a bidding war to NBC for the rights to Studio 60 in October 2005.
