- File:Who Wants to Be a Millionaire Original US Logo.png (delete | talk | history | links | logs) – uploaded by SethAllen623 ( | contribs | uploads | upload log).
Duplicative/replaced. Who Wants to Be a Millionaire (U.S. game show) article already contains a depiction of the logo in the infobox (File:WWTBAM2010falllogo.png). Unnecessary to have former & current logos. AldezD (talk) 15:45, 30 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
- Keep. This is not a complete duplicative of the current Millionaire logo—that one is merely a derivative work of this logo. There are a number of substantial design differences that distinguish the original Millionaire logo from its current counterpart. It represents what the show's branding message was at the peak of its broadcast history. And in addition, I feel it adds more significantly to the article than ANY screenshot ever could. --Seth Allen (talk) 21:57, 30 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
- Depictions of multiple versions of the television show's logo are not needed for this article. It is unnecessary to "distinguish the original Millionaire logo from its current counterpart", as this is not encyclopedic content, and this is not a branding issue. AldezD (talk) 12:49, 31 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
- I have resolved this conflict by editing the article itself to contain NO non-free images except for the current logo in the lead. I now agree with you that the article that this discussion concerns is capable of giving its information with text alone, and that depictions of multiple versions of the logo, like the use of screen captures to explain game play rules, is outright unencyclopedic. This kind of information has no rightful place on Wikipedia; it is better covered at the Game Show Wiki (yes, there is one on the Internet) than here. --Seth Allen (discussion/contributions), Friday, May 31, 2013, 20:10 U.T.C.

- File:Millionaire Contestant.jpg (delete | talk | history | links | logs) – uploaded by Windows55 (2) ( | contribs | uploads | upload log).
Useless/unnecessary. A depiction of on-screen graphics is not needed to understand content in Who Wants to Be a Millionaire (U.S. game show). AldezD (talk) 15:48, 30 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

- File:Wales on millionaire.jpg (delete | talk | history | links | logs) – uploaded by Law ( | contribs | uploads | upload log).
Useless/unnecessary. A depiction of on-screen graphics is not needed to understand content in Who Wants to Be a Millionaire (U.S. game show). Also a duplication of File:Millionaire Contestant.jpg. AldezD (talk) 15:49, 30 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
- Keep Your rationale is a bit skewed. The file is not a duplication of any other file. In fact, File:Millionaire Contestant.jpg was uploaded three years after File:Wales on millionaire.jpg, which I uploaded. Perhaps we do not see eye-to-eye on what "duplicate" means. The file is currently in use, and neither file is "needed to understand content," as you say, but this file is a better resolution, and adds relevance to the article by tying in the game show to Wikipedia, itself. If any file should be deleted, it's the later addition, which is of low-quality, and adds little value. the_undertow talk 16:00, 30 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
- A depiction of the on-screen graphics used to display question text/choices is not necessary and does not add understanding to the article content. Although it is currently "in-use", the picture is unneeded. Both pictures add no value. AldezD (talk) 18:41, 30 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
- A picture of someone playing the violin would add value to an article about the violin, especially for those of us who are visually excitable. the_undertow talk 04:25, 31 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
- A picture of someone playing the violin is directly related to the violin article. On-screen graphics displaying a question are not needed to understand the content within the Who Wants to Be a Millionaire (U.S. game show) article. The text of the article accurately describes how a question with four choices is presented. AldezD (talk) 12:51, 31 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
- To me, the on-screen graphic is displaying a player playing the game; not just a question displayed. The text of most of our articles accurately describes the subject. The greatest written works in the world contain no visual aids, as they are "unneeded." However, at times, they are helpful. "Unneeded" is subjective and would effectively eradicate Wikipedia of its images. The Birth of Venus can be accurately described by someone with a vocabulary far surpassing my own, however, my experience would be greatly enhanced by a visual aid. the_undertow talk 21:32, 31 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

- Keep - While not absolutely necessary to know about the subject, this picture adds an understanding that is much easier to capture than merely plain text description. Which, really, is the point of using fair use material: added understanding. Killiondude (talk) 20:32, 28 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

- File:Elite MMA Logo.jpg (delete | talk | history | links | logs) – uploaded by Meredith Divita ( | contribs | uploads | upload log).
The image appears to come from MMA Elite's website (http://mmaelite.net/team-elite.html see first image in second row of logos). The site has a copyright incompatible with the license used with this image on Wikipedia and ownership information is possibly incorrect. I'm not sure if this image meets criteria for fair-use or being just shapes and letters and thus non-copyrightable. So, I'm listing it for discussion. TreyGeek (talk) 17:52, 30 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
- It's a logo, too complex for {{PD-textlogo}}, so needs designer's permission. Delete or change to non-free. Ronhjones (Talk) 23:35, 30 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
- Wait World Elite mma championship has been nominated for deletion. If the article is deleted, we can delete this as unused. If it survives AfD, then this could be converted to fairuse logo. -- 65.94.76.126 (talk) 06:37, 31 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
