About me
|
My name is Anjuli and I am a GLAM (Galleries, Libraries, Archives & Museums) professional from Tāmaki Makaurau, Aotearoa.
I am employed as a Wikimedian in Residence at Auckland War Memorial Museum Tāmaki Paenga Hira. My role is funded by Wikimedia Aotearoa New Zealand.
I hold a Masters of Heritage Conservation specialising in Museums and Cultural Heritage from the University of Auckland and a Bachelor of Design majoring in Photography from Massey University.
I started editing Wikipedia in 2023, enhancing and creating local history pages about Auckland as part of the Auckland Museum Wikipedia Summer Student Programme. My first ever article was Our Lady of the Assumption, Auckland.
I aim to continue contributing to the Wikipedia Women in Red Project as well as to celebrating my community through open access knowledge and uplifting underrepresented histories, voices and stories.

Residency
In September 2024 I started as a Wikimedian in Residence at Auckland War Memorial Museum Tāmaki Paenga Hira.
My work will continue to focus on editing relevant Wikipedia pages to disperse our Museum's research and enhance and diversify Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland local history topics.
I also support engagement with the Auckland community, Auckland based GLAMs, national and international Wikipedia community and training Auckland Museum staff. In doing this I will continue to advocate and encourage the use of Wikipedia in the GLAM sector with hopes to further grow the Wikimedia community. More information about the work being done at Tāmaki Paenga Hira here.
Check out this resource: GLAMxWIKI Guidebook, designed as an entry level guide for New Zealand GLAMs to learn about how they can engage with Wikimedia platforms.
Student supervision
I am currently supervising the 2025-2026 Wiki summer student cohort with students placed between Auckland Museum, Museum of Transport and Technology, New Zealand Maritime Museum and The Fletcher Trust Archives.
From November 2024 to February 2025 I supervised the 2024/25 cohort of Wikipedia summer students.
