Male oldest person
Should we add a color or some sort of marker to the "Chronological list of the oldest living men since 1951" section for every man who was also the oldest person? Malcolmmwa (talk) 21:01, 27 November 2025 (UTC)
- So far it has only happened six times, to Mathias Hansen Saether, Robert Early, James King, Yukichi Chuganji, Emiliano Mercado del Toro, and Jiroemon Kimura. Malcolmmwa (talk) 21:05, 27 November 2025 (UTC)
Validation
What's the rule on validation because some people aren't validated on this list? CentenarianKid (talk) 00:45, 16 December 2025 (UTC)

Oldest people → List of oldest people – I feel like "List of" at the start is better. Jq talk 💬 contributions 03:17, 10 January 2026 (UTC) — Relisting. Vestrian24Bio 04:07, 17 January 2026 (UTC)
- Support. It is a list (or several lists). — BarrelProof (talk) 04:27, 10 January 2026 (UTC)
- Oppose. We have List of the verified oldest people and List of oldest living people. This article serves as a parent to those two, with some narrative and truncated samples from those actual list articles. It is different and more than just one 'list of oldest people'. This is also a very popular article, with well over 2,000 daily views. Station1 (talk) 04:43, 10 January 2026 (UTC)
- Then perhaps Lists of oldest people. It's still a collection of lists, regardless of how popular it is. — BarrelProof (talk) 21:28, 10 January 2026 (UTC)
- In that case, the other list articles Station1 mentioned could also be moved to lists because they have more than 1. Jq talk 💬 contributions 21:31, 10 January 2026 (UTC)
- "List" or "Lists" makes no difference. There's no benefit to a move. 2,000+ people a day want to read about the "oldest people" so they get to this article. Even if we assume this is a list article, list articles do not require "List of" as part of their title. What would we do with the title "Oldest people" if this article is moved? Either it would just redirect back here contrary to WP:CONCISE, so there's no point to it, or it turns into a dab page that puts an unnecessary extra step in the way of people wanting this article. It can't be just a redlink. The only way a move could make sense is if you plan to write a new narrative article under the title. Station1 (talk) 20:06, 14 January 2026 (UTC)

- Weak Support Only works because it is one or more lists. KreamoNoBrainos/Kreamy/Fat Man (talk) 20:36, 14 January 2026 (UTC)
