Mokotów Field → Pole MokotowskiePole Mokotowskie – Pole Mokotowskie is the common name of the park. If you look on Google Maps or any website such as TripAdvisor, it shows the name Pole Mokotowskie. Wikipedia is the only website that shows Mokotow Field. Therefore, to avoid confusion, it is best to move this page to Pole Mokotowskie. 73.158.229.99 (talk) 17:16, 2 April 2025 (UTC) — Relisting.TarnishedPathtalk03:45, 13 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I would oppose this move because Mokotow Field is the English translation of Pole Mokotowskie. I would compare this to the nearby National Library of Poland, which Google Maps also renders in Polish as Biblioteka Narodowa. Maltice (talk) 19:28, 2 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
This is a totally different story. National Library of Poland is an official trsnslation used by the institution. Mokotów Field is an OR translation which is totally unnecessary. I also oppose to use Google Maps as main source of informations in that kind of debates. Emptywords (talk) 07:11, 6 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Unless there are compelling reasons to do otherwise, I generally prefer titles that are more readily communicative to Wikipedia readers: which, in this case, I think is "Mokotów Field".
Comment. I wanted to comment that articles about Polish landmarks are overwhelmingly translated. In Template:Warsaw, almost all the page titles for landmarks are in English. This is in contrast to Landmarks_in_Paris for example, because English speakers are generally more familiar with basic French than basic Polish. I would leave it to editors who have a close connection to the topic to decide whether this needs to be corrected. Maltice (talk) 13:18, 10 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
