The name of the station ought to be covered in the article

@Vijethnbharadwaj: I think that the article ought to have a section talking about the name of the station, and how it has changed over the years. For example, this 9 August 2003 article in the Times of India said that at the time it was known as "Mangalore Railway Station", and that the state government wanted it renamed Mangalore Central (and at the same time wanted Kankanady Station renamed as Kankanady Junction). This 22 November 2022] article in Daijiworld.com said, Abdul Rauf and other opposition leaders asked mayor Diwakar that the station should be renamed "'Sri Narayana Gurudeva Railway Station"; in honour of Narayana Guru who arrived at the station by train in 1908. Do you have any sources that say when officialdom started calling the station "Mangaluru Central" instead of "Mangalore Central".-- Toddy1 (talk) 20:30, 5 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Toddy,
Should have pinged before renaming back. All station boards and even booking website updated with the changed name. I did not move without any reason. Refer to the blog posted in 2017. Boards were updated long back. But Wikipedia is falling behind. It's high time that Wiki page is also moved to correct name to be called an Encyclopedia. -Vijethnbharadwaj (talk) 18:39, 6 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
