Talk:Kamala Harris 2024 presidential campaign

Actual amount of vs perceived amount of splitting from Biden campaign

2nd paragraph of lead: Could add something about how she botched multiple interviews asking what (if anything) she would do differently than Biden, which caused many people to miss out on hearing a lot of the actual listed policy differences between the two campaigns - thus Harris misses out on their votes in the election.

The source: Fight: Inside the Wildest Battle for the White House which I finished reading not long ago. There's one preview chapter available online that proves there was internal pressure from Biden / his staffers on Harris to minimize the difference between their campaigns. Main clip that comes to mind is "There is not a thing that comes to mind" from the interview on The View - which was quickly put into Trump attack ads Ee100duna (talk) 04:44, 27 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Edit request on 4 August 2025

Please add this in the lead section at the bottom:

Had Harris been elected, she would have been the first female president to serve as president of the United States, the first Asian American president, the second African American president after Barack Obama, and the first sitting vice president to take the presidency since George H. W. Bush. The first California native to serve as president since Richard Nixon (Herbert Hoover and Ronald Reagan both represented California but were born in Iowa and Illinois, respectively). Whereas her husband, Doug Emhoff, would also have been the first first gentleman in the United States history. Walz would have become the first vice president from Minnesota since Walter Mondale in 1976 and the first incumbent state governor to take this seat since Spiro Agnew in 1968. 27.49.15.130 (talk) 01:15, 5 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: This lengthy list of hypothetical trivia doesn't belong in the lead section of the article. Day Creature (talk) 06:16, 5 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Spending?

"Receipts US$997,236,360.17 (October 16, 2024)", but how much was spend? How does it compare to other candidates? 2003:C6:3702:6E9D:D922:4477:D431:BE54 (talk) 14:44, 3 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I added some information that breakdowns the role of outside spending, and hopefully that brings some clarity. Bravelake (talk) 02:14, 9 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
