Draft:Per Olsson (photographer)

  • Comment: Similar comments to the previous reviewers. We need in depth and independent sources - so other people reviewing the subject in detail. There is improved sourcing but they are passing references, there isn't the depth. It is tricky for photographers to establish notability. Have a look at WP:PHOTOGRAPHER and the 4 criteria mentioned, and you perhaps looking at criteria 1 and 4, for example if the subject features in a permanent collection of a notable gallery. Per Olsson (born 1964) is a Swedish fashion and fine‑art photographer whose images have appeared in international magazines such as Vogue, Elle, Plaza Magazine [sv] and Cosmopolitan.[1] Active since the early 1990s, he created the 2023 series "F1 Euphoria", photographed with Ronnie Peterson’s Lotus 72 Formula One car.[2]

Early life and education

Olsson was born in Torsby and grew up in Hagfors, Värmland, Sweden.[1] He began photographing local events before studying communication and media at Karlstad University.[1]

Fashion and advertising

While at university, Olsson’s pictures were noticed by the Karlstad advertising agency Clara, which hired him for a campaign for the Swedish clothing brand Koppartrans.[1] His early photographs—featuring non‑traditional models and unconventional cropping—were later reprinted in Vogue Italia.[1]

Auto Fashion Art and F1 Euphoria

In 2017 Olsson began combining classic cars with fashion in a style he calls “Auto Fashion Art”, photographing vehicles such as Corvettes, Mustangs and Rolls‑Royces.[2]

His 2023 project "F1 Euphoria" was shot at the Lotus factory in Hethel, England, with Peterson’s Lotus 72E (chassis R8).[3] The exhibition ran at Oak Island Gallery in Stockholm featured 20 large‑format prints.[2]

Advocacy for photographic heritage

In November 2023 Olsson and the Swedish Photographers' Association [sv] took part in a seminar at the Riksdag calling for a national strategy to preserve Swedish photographic archives. Member of Parliament Lars Mejern Larsson supported the proposal in a written question to the Minister of Culture.[4]
