Moesha Johnson (born 19 September 1997) is an Australian swimmer. She won a silver medal in the 10km open swim at the 2024 Summer Olympics.
Early life
Johnson was born and raised in the Gold Coast-Tweed region and attended Palm Beach Currumbin State High School throughout her teenage years.[2] She began swimming at Coopers Aquatic Club in Burleigh Heads.[3] She trains at Griffith University's Gold Coast campus under world renowned coach Michael Bohl.[4]
Career
She competed at the 2022 World Aquatics Championships in Budapest in the Women's 1500 metre freestyle.[5]
She was a bronze medalist at the 2023 World Aquatics Championships in the open water team event. She also competed at the Women's 1500 metre freestyle at the Championships in Japan.[6]
She was a gold medalist at the 2024 World Aquatics Championships in the open water Team event. She also finished in fourth place in the individual open water women’s 10km at the Championships.[7][8]
She competed at the 2024 Summer Olympics in the Women's 1500 metres freestyle, as well as the 10km marathon.[9] In open water she won the silver medal behind her training partner Sharon van Rouwendaal (Netherland). Both are in the training group of SC Magdeburg (Germany).[10]
