Re: Jerusalem, Israel
Jerusalem is the capital of Israel. Wikipedia is the free encyclopedia, facts matter more than consensus. Consensus here is based on popularity rather than reality. Queens Historian (talk) 13:14, 4 February 2025 (UTC)
- Queens Historian, if facts are so important to you, here's one: you still need to discuss at the talk page. 4TheWynne (talk • contribs) 14:14, 4 February 2025 (UTC)
- And in the talk page, anti-Israel users will always outnumber pro-Israel users. Wikipedia is supposed to be about facts, not a tyranny of the majority opinions. 161.185.198.217 (talk) 17:11, 4 February 2025 (UTC)
Please explain.
Your edit description made no sense. They are about to delete the direct team shortcut links as the global template exists. I'm sick of this crap. The-Pope (talk) 09:14, 9 February 2025 (UTC)
- The-Pope, I noticed. I'm not sure what else needs explaining; since this discussion (which I did invite you to join), we've only mentioned the Indigenous names in the prose and game notes of season articles rather than use them more widely (I also remember there being a subsection of another article which went into further detail while a standalone article was in the works, but it seems to have disappeared) – where else would they need to be mentioned aside from the club articles themselves, let alone linked? The links up for deletion were unused because we had decided not to link the names anymore, so not sure why you think continuing to do so via the single template would be useful. 4TheWynne (talk • contribs) 09:44, 9 February 2025 (UTC)
- Because it's a shortcut template that's a lot easier to remember than the full spellings. Not sure why this place has become so deletionist lately. LET US EDIT THE WAY WE WANT TO. If it's an unused switch, who cares! The-Pope (talk) 12:33, 9 February 2025 (UTC)
- The-Pope, oh please... stop acting so hard-done-by. Things like the creation of the global template, I can understand your frustration (and was with you, if you remember), as that was enforced on us without any prior discussion/consensus and did force us to deviate from "editing the way we want[ed] to" (if you want to continue venting your frustration, maybe redirect it back that way), but the use of the Indigenous names was discussed, and they're going to be mentioned so scarcely that they don't need to be linked at all, rendering the shortcuts useless; we don't need to add unnecessary shortcuts and might as well just stick to the ones we'll actually use. I'll add the names to the season articles if they're ever needed in the prose or game notes, but even that will happen less and less as more clubs potentially jump on this concept... otherwise, that's pretty much it. 4TheWynne (talk • contribs) 03:58, 10 February 2025 (UTC)
- Then make that argument at the TfD then. Don't let them say "unnecessary, as the generic AFL Team template exists", but then block the use of the generic template. Not everyone remembers every discussion from months ago. But everyone knows how frequently they'll be needed in the future. The-Pope (talk) 04:29, 10 February 2025 (UTC)

- The-Pope, no, you bring up the Indigenous names at project level – you're the one trying to reintroduce something that we chose to stop using. Rather than focus on further comments at the TfD, think about why the templates were nominated in the first place (which I agree with, and therefore have no reason to oppose their deletion) – again, where else would the names be mentioned outside of the season and club articles (and a SDNR article if created)? 4TheWynne (talk • contribs) 08:04, 10 February 2025 (UTC)
Older Grand Finals.
Some of the older (mainly) VFL grand finals pages like https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1937_VFL_season do not have a scorebox showin the grand final score and instead only a link to the grand final wiki page. Should the scoreboxes be added onto all of these articles? Flipstatic Energy (talk) 11:49, 10 February 2025 (UTC)
- Flipstatic Energy, not sure I understand – are you asking about the season articles, or the grand final ones? You mentioned grand final articles but the link that you left was for a season article. 4TheWynne (talk • contribs) 14:22, 10 February 2025 (UTC)
- I mean the season articles. If you look at the finals series section of the older seasons they only show a link to the grand final and no scorebox unlike the other finals (and current finals system). Flipstatic Energy (talk) 23:02, 10 February 2025 (UTC)
- Flipstatic Energy, OK, cool – I follow; anything like that/to do with getting the season articles looking the same, feel free to leave that to me, as I'm gradually going through them all to update (or add, if they aren't already there) each section. 4TheWynne (talk • contribs) 03:24, 11 February 2025 (UTC)
- Also @4TheWynne Is my completed 2022 goalkicking table allowed to be put on the 2022 AFL season page yet or does it still need improvement?

Dustin Martin
Hi! I saw you reverted my edit on Dustin Martin, but assumed good faith. That's OK, nothing wrong with that. I know it (The full name) is being explored, and could possibly return. Just interested know though, what might be some good things and bad things about using the long name? Thank you for collaborating Servite et contribuere (talk) 23:48, 19 February 2025 (UTC)
