User:JamieF (second from left) at Wikimania 2024 during the GLAM Global Meetup

Until Wednesday, February 12, 2025, I worked for the U.S. Department of Agriculture National Agricultural Library (USDA-NAL). I served as their Senior Wikipedian and Outreach coordinator for 6 years. I have been a Wikipedian for nine years, and I am one of the co-organizers for the Wikimedians of Indiana User Group. Additionally, I was the community manager for the WMF-funded View it! tool which was the newcomer "Coolest Tool" in 2024 and recently served as the program chair for WikiConference North America 2024.

I am available to help with Wikipedia articles, offer Wikipedia training, and to talk about open access and open knowledge. Additionally, I'm free to help GLAM institutions get active with uploading to Wikimedia Commons and editing Wikipedia, particularly training volunteers to edit around collections.

My editing efforts focus on agriculture (and all its various aspects), science, STEM, art, writing/expanding information about women, BIPOC, and LGBTQ+ individuals. I work on projects and attend/assist/coordinate events outside of my work at NAL. Including supporting editing efforts at several universities and consulting for Indiana University Indianapolis on the Central Indiana Wikipedia Partnership project. I am passionate about sharing the various Wikimedia projects with others and teaching/encouraging others to edit. Outside of Wikipedia, I am interested in information access and librarianship, open knowledge advocacy, agriculture/food systems/agricultural law, animals, plants, art/fiber art, and a smattering of other things. I currently live near downtown Indianapolis, but I've lived in Washington, D.C.; Ocala, Florida; Auburn, Alabama; Charleston and Beardstown, Illinois.

About my work/conflict of interest

I support the mission of multiple GLAM institutions by working to make their holdings more accessible to the public by making them available to Wikipedia for use in creating and editing articles. When I edit Wikipedia as part of my duties, I strictly abide by Wikipedia's accepted practices on conflicts of interest, neutrality, and notability. I will always work in the best interest of Wikipedia, because that aligns with the missions I am dedicated to and I will modify my editing behavior based on any issues brought to my attention by other editors.
