Trial by Candlellight is a 1958 British television play which aired as an episode of Armchair Theatre. It was directed by Wolf Rilla and written by John Kruse.[1] The play was a key work in the career of Janet Munro.[2][3]
The play was postponed because of star Freda Jackon's flu.[4][5] It was recorded in October 1957 and shown in 1958. In the meantime Munro had been signed by Walt Disney.[6]
It was one of the ten most seen programs in Britain the week it broadcast.[7]
Premise
A young woman, Anne, is driven to suicide and a writer, Louis, investigates why.
