Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Novels

Just a heads up that Eyegouger (talk · contribs) created Category:Novels by year of setting and moved the "Fiction set in [year]" categories in novel articles to those new categories. I helped move some of the articles. Unfortunately, now the parent "Novels set in [decade]" categories remain in articles alongside the new child categories. I could easily remove them all, but I don't want to do that because conceivably the decade category could still apply. That is, a novel may be explicitly set in a given year while also being set, more generally, in other unspecified periods within the same decade. I know, speaking for myself, that I have categorized a few articles this way in the past. It would require an extraordinary amount of familiarity with each work to ensure accuracy when removing them. I'm afraid I can't do that. Οἶδα (talk) 04:53, 14 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The article Daniel Palmer (writer) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Tagged as a BLP referenced solely by primary sources and notability concerns for 15 years. No other language has a reliably sourced article from which to translate. Unsourced WP:BLP. In ordinary times, not a big problem, but nowadays, this is a legal risk.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion based on established criteria.

If the proposed deletion has already been carried out, you may request undeletion of the article at any time. Bearian (talk) 20:30, 9 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
