Content assessments are used within the project itself as a quality and importance scale that aid in identifying vital content, while recognizing excellent contributions and pages in need of further work and cleanup. To add an article to the worklist, place the template below at the top of the article's Talk page.
{{WikiProject COVID-19|class=|importance=}}

Class parameters
Note: Levels GA ( Good article) and FA, FM, FL (Featured content), are assessments made by the community, rather than by this WikiProjects. GAs are generally reviewed by one or two editors and FA, FM, FL by a panel. Candidates are nominated by listing them at WP:Good article nominations, WP:Featured article candidates, Wikipedia:Featured list candidates and Wikipedia:Featured pictures nominations.
An article's quality assessment is recorded using the |class= parameter in the {{WikiProject banner shell}}. Articles that have the {{WikiProject COVID-19}} banner template on their talk page will be added to the appropriate categories by quality.

|---|---|---|---|

| ??? | (articles for which a valid class has not yet been provided are listed in the Unassessed COVID-19 articles category) | ??? |
For non-mainspace content, the following values may be used:

Importance parameters
An article's importance assessment is generated from the importance parameter in the {{WikiProject COVID-19}} project banner on its talk page:
{{WikiProject COVID-19|importance =???}}
The following values may be used for the importance parameter to indicate an articles status.
COVID-19 epidemiology articles
COVID-19 location articles
COVID-19 society articles
Other parameters
In-addition to the content assessment parameters as seen above, there are other parameters including size option and parameters to call attention to wanted and lacking items along with a biography specific category parameter.
{{WikiProject COVID-19|listas=|small=|attention=|needs-image=|needs-infobox=|unref=}}
| COVID-19 Low‑importance | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
- listas – This parameter, which is the equivalent of the DEFAULTSORT sortkey that should be placed on all biographical articles, is a sortkey for the article talk page (e.g. for Li Wenliang, use
|listas=Wenliang, Liso that the talk page will show up in the W's and not the L's of the various assessment and administrative categories). This is important because it is one source used by those who set DEFAULTSORT on the article; consider also setting the DEFAULTSORT for the article when setting this parameter. For more information about this, please see Wikipedia:Categorization of people § Ordering names in a category.
If the article is using {{WikiProject banner shell}} then it is preferable to add|listas=to that template instead of a project banner template. Putting the parameter on more than one template is not required. - small – this parameter is no longer supported and can safely be removed from the template.
- attention – set
|attention=yesif the article needs immediate attention from experienced editors. Use only if another parameter does not cover the need for attention; this should be used sparingly. It is strongly encouraged to also add a section to the talk page explaining what needs attention.- This parameter populates Category:COVID-19 articles needing attention.
- needs-image – set
|needs-image=yesto request that a picture or pictures be included in the article to improve its quality.- This parameter populates Category:Wikipedia requested images of COVID-19-related topics.
- needs-infobox – set
|needs-infobox=yesif the article needs an infobox. Remember that infoboxes are not suitable for all articles, and can overwhelm short articles.- This parameter populates Category:Wikipedia articles with an infobox request.
- unref – set
|unref=yesTo request more references and/or adequate inline citations- This parameter populates Category:Articles lacking sources.
