Arch of Charents moved to draftspace

Thanks for your contributions to Arch of Charents. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it needs more sources to establish notability. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. Annh07 (talk) 07:56, 27 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Annh07, I would like to ask you how many more sources I need to establish notability. I also have to ask you about translations, because this article is based on a place that has been written in German and Western Armenian. I would like to know how I would be able to possibly link them up after my page is ready to be published. Spino-Soar-Us (talk) 08:25, 27 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, please read Wikipedia:Notability and Wikipedia:Notability (geographic features), which are the criteria for determining the notability of this article's subject. If you have reliable and in-depth sources, 3-4 sources are enough (WP:THREE). Reliable sources are required so that information can be verified (you may cite German or Armenian sources). The sources you provided in the article are not reliable sources so I have removed them per WP:UGC and WP:ELNO. Annh07 (talk) 09:44, 27 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I'm sorry Annh07, but you misunderstood me. I wasn't talking about the sources when I said the German and Western Armenian article but the pages like this link
https://hy.wikipedia.org/wiki/%D5%89%D5%A1%D6%80%D5%A5%D5%B6%D6%81%D5%AB_%D5%AF%D5%A1%D5%B4%D5%A1%D6%80_%D5%B0%D5%B8%D6%82%D5%B7%D5%A1%D6%80%D5%B1%D5%A1%D5%B6_(%D5%88%D5%B2%D5%BB%D5%A1%D5%A2%D5%A5%D6%80%D5%A4).
I was asking about how I could connect these articles with the different types of languages that are above for the view history and edit source. I also want to mention that use of the YouTube video " Ռաֆայել Իսրայելյան" was used in the Western Armenian version (same link above) of the website and is the only reason why I used it. Unless you again say that it's unreliable, I am going to add it, but thank you for suggesting improvements on my page. But thank you for suggesting improvements on my page and thank you for telling me as much as you have on my talk page. Spino-Soar-Us (talk) 12:08, 27 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Please read WP:INTERWIKI, I hope it will help you.
Also you need to know that Wikipedia projects are independent, some sources may be acceptable for Armenian Wikipedia but may not be acceptable for English Wikipedia. Youtube is not a reliable source, per WP:RSPYT. Annh07 (talk) 14:20, 27 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Your submission at Articles for creation: Arch of Charents (November 5)

Your recent article submission to Articles for Creation has been reviewed. Unfortunately, it has not been accepted at this time. The reasons left by Edward-Woodrow were:
This submission is not adequately supported by reliable sources. Reliable sources are required so that information can be verified. If you need help with referencing, please see Referencing for beginners and Citing sources.
This submission appears to read more like an advertisement than an entry in an encyclopedia. Encyclopedia articles need to be written from a neutral point of view, and should refer to a range of independent, reliable, published sources, not just to materials produced by the creator of the subject being discussed. This is important so that the article can meet Wikipedia's verifiability policy and the notability of the subject can be established. If you still feel that this subject is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia, please rewrite your submission to comply with these policies.
The comment the reviewer left was:
All claims need to be sourced. Where is the information coming from? Also, some of the language is promotional or emotionally manipulative.
Please check the submission for any additional comments left by the reviewer. You are encouraged to edit the submission to address the issues raised and resubmit after they have been resolved.

Hi Edawrd-Woodrow. on the 5th of November, you declined the article called Draft:Arch of Charents. One of the reasons you listed was reliable sourcing, and I wondered which one of the sources was unreliable. Also, I am also asking if the sources that I found would be reliable (they are written in Armenian but if you need the translation button is still there for the entire page). The sources are [1], [2] and [3]. Also, I would like to thank you for helping me with this article and for the feedback that you presented I will try to use in correcting the article. Crood Awakening

I noticed you placed Crood Awakening back on the List of unproduced DreamWorks Animation projects article after I had removed it. I provided an explanation since it was repurposed into The Croods. When the film was first announced in 2005, this was the general synopsis:

Set in the Stone Age, "Crood Awakening" is a comedy about a big man in a small village called Crood. His position as Leader of the Hunt is threatened by the arrival of a prehistoric genius who comes up with revolutionary new inventions like fire.

I'm sure you are fully aware that animated films constantly go through various cycles of development, but the general idea of the film stayed the same. I am advocating its removal based on this. PrinceArchelaus (talk) 05:18, 18 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited List of extinct languages of Asia, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Akkad. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Norwegian Crusade

Information icon Hi Spino-Soar-Us! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor at Norwegian Crusade that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a specific definition on Wikipedia—it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. See also WP:CATSPECIFIC before adding duplicate categories. TylerBurden (talk) 18:28, 20 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello TylerBurden! First of all, thank you for explaining what minor edits are for. Although I have been editing articles for two years now, I still am learning stuff and didn't know before you told me what minor articles specifically meant. But, I just want to clarify my point on the category of crusades as I have seen you reverting my edits on it. I saw the reason why you were removing the category was because it article already had a specific category that went to the Norwegian Crusade. This category had a problem where it wasn't connected to the Crusades category itself, so I have made it a subcategory. But I still believe that the Norwegian Crusade article should have the category specifically on Category:Crusades because it is a major crusade and crusades like the Albigensian Crusade and the Nicaean–Latin wars. I won't change it anymore and I would like to know your opinions on why the category shouldn't specifically be on the article. Thank You Spino-Soar-Us (talk) 01:45, 21 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
No problem, the reason is WP:CATSPECIFIC. The Norwegian Crusade subcategory itself is part of the Crusades category. If you look at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Crusades you will see it listed there. TylerBurden (talk) 19:57, 21 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
All great! I just want to say that I added that recently but prior to that when I was editing on the article itself, they weren't connected. But thank you for clearing this up. Spino-Soar-Us (talk) 05:47, 22 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
It seems you are still doing this. TylerBurden (talk) 14:21, 24 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]

@MPGuy2824:Hi and thank you for your message. The reason why I did add Gasgu language onto the Kaskian language page is because the Kaskians article has a source and mentions Gasgu as one of the names for the Kaskians. I do not have a specific source for the Kaskian language also being named the Gasgu language, so I am asking you what should I do? Thank You Spino-Soar-Us (talk) 02:55, 23 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
That page says 'Gasga' (as one of the names of the Kaska people. Should we change the language redirect accordingly? -MPGuy2824 (talk) 05:28, 23 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I don't believe the language redirect should be changed as the article Kaskians doesn't mention the language as the Kaskian language article exists to talk about the language. I believe that we could assume the Gasgu language is the same as the Kaskian language, which is why I believe the redirect should remain the same. November 2024

Information icon Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give a page a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into Araks, Armavir (east). This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases for registered users, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Thank you. @MPGuy2824:Hi, I understand your discussion on deleting the page. I do not have sources for it and I do believe that it should be deleted with the Arch of Charents' and Charent's Arch as they also fall under the same category. Thank You. Spino-Soar-Us (talk) 07:13, 13 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I don't think I understood you: Why should those redirects be deleted? They seems like acceptable variants of the article Charents Arch to me. -MPGuy2824 (talk) 07:17, 13 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@MPGuy2824: The redirects should be deleted as they have not been used and they are incorrect as the apostrophes make it so that the name changes to be incorrect. Spino-Soar-Us (talk) 07:36, 13 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
They seem ok to me. But feel free to start an RFD if you wish. -MPGuy2824 (talk) 07:38, 13 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, if you can please add it into the discussion of Temple of Charents thanks. Spino-Soar-Us (talk) 07:40, 13 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hey, I don't think the criteria for deletion matches with that RFD. Additionally, Like I indicated above, I would oppose the deletion of these redirects, as they seem fine to me. There is a step-by-step procedure to start an RFD on the page that I've to above, which you can follow if you'd like. -MPGuy2824 (talk) 07:50, 13 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

UNESCO status in language infobox

Hey, just so you know, there have been discussions in the past, and it's generally not considered best to include the Atlas of the World's Languages in Danger status in the infobox in that manner. There are a few reasons—mainly, it's semantically incorrect, as that parameter is meant for maps and is being misused for something else. Secondly, it's a bit of an overreach to fully equate language vitality with the clear visual analog being drawn—i.e. with biodiversity on species articles and the like. It is much preferrable in my mind to mention a language's status in the body, but it is inappropriate semantically and POV-wise to give such visually specific placement in the infobox. Cheers. Thank you for your attempt to edit the Visigoths page. However, I reverted your contribution. Please pay closer attention to the content of your additions, as it is clear on the page that Gothic was the language of the Visigoths, who spoke an eastern dialect thereof. Also, if you are not fully aware, you need to cite content to reliable sources (RS). Many generic websites do not qualify. Your best bet is to get content from academic books and/or respected journals. Happy editing. Obenritter (talk) 16:11, 6 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hello! I wanted to let you know that in the article List of extinct languages and dialects of Europe, I moved Ludza, Old Prussian, and Wangerooge Frisian from formerly extinct to currently extinct, because, while they are undergoing revival, they do not have native speakers, thus, unlike Livonian or Manx, which do have native speakers, they are still extinct. It seems there is some ambiguity between whether "extinct" means no native speakers or no secondary speakers, so feel free to revert if you know something I don't about this topic, although the article in question does say the list is for languages with no native speakers. I'm informing you because you were the one to add Ludza to formerly extinct languages. All the best, 90.139.162.184 (talk) 14:05, 18 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Could you help?

Could you please make the Urarteans and Zoks articles available in other languages on Wikipedia? Marquis2425 (talk) 22:49, 2 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I am just going to say that I won't be that helpful in trying to translate your articles into other languages. I've only done 2 translations for articles from English to other languages, as I mainly translate from other languages to English. Out of the 2 times I have translated an article, one of them was deleted as it was a translation made using the translate feature and the other one has had limited interactions and could be deleted in the future for the same reason. The best I could do for you is translate your articles into Armenian as I know Armenian and the articles are also related to Armenians. Could you also tell me where you got some of the information for Urarteans as I believe you mentioned that you got it from a Russian page? Thank You. Spino-Soar-Us (talk) 01:36, 3 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, after I published this comment, I searched for the articles with the Armenian names and found them. I have now properly linked both articles to their translated pages via Wikidata and it will show 5 more languages for Urarteans and 2 more languages for Zoks. Other than the languages already made, I cannot translate any more due to the reason above with there already being a Armenian page for both languages. Thank You. Kamianske (Zaporizhzhia Oblast)

Hi. Deep State reports that Russia captured Kamianske while Ukrainian Armed Forces deny it and ISW doesn't take a clear position. What do you think should we do; XANTHO GENOS 5.5.2024 (talk) 15:32, 1 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I'm going to guess you want to change the Territorial control during the Russo-Ukrainian War. We usually use ISW there as the main source, but I have also used Deepstate as a source too. You could use Claimed Captured like its on the Oleksiivka, Khotin Hromada part in the Sumy Oblast section and leave it as contested.

Non-attributed translations

Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you translated text from uk:Новокостянтинівка (Сумський район) to Novokostyantynivka, Sumy Oblast. While you are welcome to translate Wikipedia content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing requires that you provide attribution to the contributor(s) of the original article. When translating from a foreign-language Wikipedia article, this is supplied at a minimum in an edit summary on the page where you add translated content, identifying it as a translation and linking it to the source page. Sample wording for this is given here. If you forgot, or were not aware of this requirement, attribution must be given retroactively, for example:

NOTE: Content in the edit of 01:25, January 25, 2023 was translated from the existing French Wikipedia article at [[:fr:Exact name of French article]]; see its history for attribution.

Retroactive attribution may be added using a dummy edit; see Repairing insufficient attribution. It is good practice, especially if translation is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{translated page}} template on the talk page of the destination article. If you have added translated content previously which was not attributed at the time it was added, you must add attribution retrospectively, even if it was a long time ago. You can read more about author attribution and the reasons for it at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. JTtheOG (talk) 08:10, 26 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Introduction to contentious topics

You have recently edited a page related to the Balkans or Eastern Europe, a topic designated as contentious. This is a brief introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.

A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia's norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have an expanded level of powers and discretion in order to reduce disruption to the project.

Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:

Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures, you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.

Careful of proper date formatting

I noticed you changed Learner Tien into the incorrect date format. It should be mdy instead of dmy. We conform to the proper format depending on the player's nationality. Please ensure you are familiar with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, and please do not continue to make edits that appear disruptive. Continued disruptive editing may result in loss of editing privileges. Improper date formatting for American tennis player. Jagger Leach and other US articles

Hi, I just want to clarify that I did see all of the messages about the date mixeup and I wanted to reply to this, but I forgot. I want to apologise, as I also forgot about the mdy dates format. I know that I will probably make that mistake again, but I just want to clarify that I am committed to using the correct date format for American tennis players. I also noticed that you reverted my edit on the basis of a dispute. I have only edited another time on the article and with something that has no affiliation with the reverted edit, so I just want to know whether you had any other problems with my edit of that the date format being wrong. I also want to know whether I needed to use the mdy format for the updated part of the infobox since it already was using the dmy date format prior to my edits. Thank You. Spino-Soar-Us (talk) 12:21, 13 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]

You have to remember that often people make multiple changes in the same edit. I don't always have time to weed out the good changes from the bad changes. I did it multiple times for your edits and mentioned it in edit summaries. Then I mentioned it two times here on your talk page. After that I looked at it as disruptive and that you didn't care. When you edit you are certainly under no obligation to make right what is already wrong. If you don't fix a date and leave it alone, there are no issues at all. But if you know a US player date is in the wrong format and add new dates you should really correct the date format at that time. And there were several articles recently where you changed from a good format to a bad one. Like using bgcolor in html. It's deprecated but if no one touches the color attribute there's no real issue. It's when you change the color that you should be using the correct formatting. So yes, if you are taking the time to add new dates, it should be in the correct format. I reverted you on the basis of disruptive editing. Someone has to go around and fix the dates you got wrong on US players. It's absolutely great that you update the stats, just please use the right format. Otherwise what happens is if you had done nothing, in a little while someone would have fixed the dates and the formatting. When you just fix the dates editors say I'm not bothering with fixing just the formatting since it not hurting anyone. So it rots.
I want you to continue updating stats... it's a job many dont want to do. Thanks for that. But please if you do update an American player's dates, put them in the correct format. Cheers. Fyunck(click) (talk) 07:59, 14 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
