Hi! Sorry to bother, I wasn't sure where best to raise this regarding the latest edit on Addison Rae. About this sentence: "Rae has also embraced a 1990s and Y2K aesthetic with high-saturated photoshoots and music reminiscent of Hilary Duff and Christina Aguilera."

After checking the cited source, it seems the comparison is only about the visual artwork, not the music. The article says: "The full-length is a nod to pop past and present, honouring these influences while not leaning too heavily on them. Even its high-saturation artwork is a homage to Y2K It girls including Hilary Duff and Christina Aguilera, with a pinch of grainy Tumblr aesthetics."

Additionally, the reference itself seems fairly broad/vague, just naming them as general Y2K "It girl" examples rather than making a clear stylistic or career comparison. Because of that, the current wording feels a bit misleading and possibly overstates what the source supports. Would it make more sense to either revise the sentence or remove it altogether unless more references are added? Thanks! JustThat1990 (talk) 20:24, 5 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]

@JustThat1990: Hi, its not bother. On second look at the source you are right that it isn't necessarily talking about music so I think we can remove the music mention. However, the artwork is being compared to "Y2K It girls" so I think it is still worth mentioning Duff and Aguilera as examples of who those "It girls" may be. The section is artistry and artists often have comparisons and references made to other artists so its not a huge stretch I feel. Maybe a revised sentence singling out that the source is talking about the debut album's cover such as: "Rae has also embraced a 1990s and Y2K aesthetic with high-saturated photoshoots. Her debut album's cover was described as an homage to 'Y2K It girls' including Hilary Duff and Christina Aguilera".. Maxwell Smart123321 21:05, 5 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you so much! I still wonder a bit whether this detail needs that much emphasis with only one fairly broad source, but your revised wording is definitely clearer and more accurate. JustThat1990 (talk) 20:03, 6 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
