I'm one of four administrators who regularly review PRODS and I find almost all of your taggings very appropriate (just a note, I'll never say 100% to any question!). However, I've noticed that lately you have added the year that the article was created to the PROD tag. As far as I'm concerned, when the article was created has no influence on whether or not it should be deleted. Yes, 20 years ago on the project, our standards for notability and verification were much different than they are today but just like there are bad and good articles being written in 2025, there were bad and good articles being written in 2005. It's an interesting data point but I don't think it should influence editors' decisions on whether or not to remove the PROD tag or admins' decision on whether or not to delete the article. I'm taking the coverage with a grain of salt because 1) the media there is garbage and the sources are deprecated; 2) the coverage is heavily slanted and caste-biased, and I think the situation has a local media are in cahoots with the local politicians to take the valuable land away from the locals for developers to profit vibe but I'm not a conspiracy theorist; and 3) all of the stories are either about the supposed crime wave of murders and/or suicides in the slum "deaths under mysterious circumstances", and "will someone please think of the children!" All that having been said, this stub is in fact sourced, so I removed your proposal for deleting (de-prodding) and the unref tag. What do you think? It is enough to find one reliable source to satisfy wp:Verifiability. -- Lenny Marks (talk) 21:49, 17 February 2025 (UTC)[reply] PRODs of settlements Hi Joe: you PROD a lot of places but your standard PROD reason - "No significant coverage of the village in independent reliable sources to establish notability." - is incorrect for settlements, which are not covered by GNG and don't require significant coverage in independent reliable sources to establish notability, but by WP:GEOLAND, which has only two requirements: (a) a source showing that the subject is actually a settlement (and not for example an isolated building or a geographical feature); and (b) a source showing that the subject is "legally recognized", which is meaningless outside the USA but is generally interpreted as "some kind of administrative recognition or existence". The underlying difficulty is lack of sources, which you are correctly identifying - it is just the level of sourcing that was concerning me, in that settlements need far fewer: an Indian village, for example, can get by on an entry in a census or a listing as part of a higher admin unit for legal recognition and a description as a village in a news story or some other publication for confirmation as a settlement - and as you know well, many of them can't even manage that. Going forward, the wording of the PROD reason you suggest seems absolutely fine to me. Thanks for your understanding. A few weeks ago, the article Acesander's cup was rated C; I know rating isn't anything particularly important but I'd be interested to know, what exactly would it take for this article to be rated higher, at least B? The reason I'm asking is because some of my previous articles (such as Pydna curse tablets, Akanthos curse tablet, Land of dreams (mythology) etc.) were unexpectedly rated B and, while I always put effort in my articles, I was particularly determined for this one to become B-rated too: In particular, the sources I used are WP:RS (written by professionals in the field of archaeology and published by reliable publications); every sentence in the body is carefully sourced, at times with more than one citation, and I expand with explanatory notes when neeed; I tried to provide all necessary information, like analysis on the artifact and text, translations, and proposed restorations. @Liberationfemale, see Wikipedia:Orphan for full "how-to" info. While I am not familiar with the topic, I formerly did a lot of de-orphaning until I was advised to stop. The article Boston Female Liberation is considered "Orphan" because it has no mentions (wikilinks) in other articles. Think of Wikipedia like a spider-web, inter-connected information. For the person reading about "Boston Female Liberation", when they click on "Special pages", then choose "What links here", it shows all articles where "Boston Female Liberation" is listed. @Number 57 - Thank you for letting me know about that notability. For those political & election articles, my hope when doing Prod is for the article to be updated with references, or merged (not by me, as those are a challenge), or tagged as Notable - All these options instead of being deleted.

Lately, I've been at Category:Articles lacking sources from December 2009. To filter those thousands of articles, I run Petscan for the category with "Page properties" less or equal 1000, with "Output - Sort" of Ascending, so the smallest articles display first. With browser search of "Party" it shows eleven articles. Thank you for helping with these articles. On Wikipedia there are many experts, and I do appreciate everyone contributing. I would like to just echo the sentiment here that I would be very happy to help improve the article quality of the smaller political parties before they go down the deletion route and have been trying to do so - although in one case I did find that essentially the party never existed and too much emphasis had been placed on a single secondary source that had misreported things, so deletion was definitely warranted! I suspect this is the case for other parties where due to the nature of language translations and occasional misreporting, sometimes the pages are for a party that in essence existed, but many sources don't always recognise, so there definitely needs to be a cleanup of many of these pages which again I'm more than happy to assist with. Chiswick Chap - Yes, I see the Forestry entry from the manual Popular pages request. Thinking about this, the WikiProject needs more categories defined. For example, check out Category:WikiProject_Agriculture, and at "Q" section, click on the arrow to open up all the sub-categories listed for Agriculture articles by quality. After adding those category "buckets", individual articles need to be assessed with "Class" of, Start, Stub, etc.; same for "Importance". Then when "WP 1.0 bot" does it's daily processing, the Forestry wikitable should then populate from those assessments. Hope this helps. JoeNMLC (talk) 17:20, 3 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Two less complicated Category examples: Category:Ghost town articles by quality and Category:Ghost town articles by importance. Later today, I may do some of the Forestry setup. The answer may be [Wikipedia_talk:Version_1.0_Editorial_Team/Index#WikiProject_Forestry in this reply] to my question over at the bot's page: "Something weird is going on with the categories, though- Category:FL-Class Forestry articles is empty, but Talk:List of inventoried conifers in the United States says that it's in that category? {{WikiProject Forestry}} itself says its on 3200 pages, but only 50 are in the categories. Very strange, but unrelated to the 1.0 bot." This means that the bot is failing to find nearly all the project's pages. Hello. Just letting you know that I have removed a PROD from Draft:Bloomfield-Mespo School District because it is not an article or locally hosted file. In general, non-notable drafts can be left alone to be G13'd in 6 months. Otherwise, MfD is more appropriate for deleting drafts. Update: I have been informed by another editor that someone has been draftifying old articles, including ones that were PROD-ed. After I de-PRODed the draft for being a draft, it was moved back into mainspace. As a result, I have restored the PROD. Since it has been down a while and would have expired, I have given it another 7 days as I think that is the fairest thing for opposers. January–February 2026 Backlog Drive | New pages patrol
New Pages Patrol is hosting a one-time, two-month experimental backlog drive aimed at reducing the backlog. This will be a combo drive: both articles and redirects will earn points. The drive will run from 1 January to 28 February 2026. The drive is divided into two phases. Participants may take part in either phase or across both phases, depending on availability. Barnstars will be awarded based on the number of articles and redirects patrolled during the drive. Two-month drive-exclusive barnstars will be awarded to eligible participants.
