Arbitration

  • Due to the result of a recent motion, a rough consensus of administrators at the arbitration enforcement noticeboard may impose an expanded topic ban on Israel, Israelis, Jews, Judaism, Palestine, Palestinians, Islam, and/or Arabs, if an editor's Arab-Israeli conflict topic ban is determined to be insufficient to prevent disruption. At least one diff per area expanded into should be cited.

Thanks for your kind note. I had rushed that and missed the additional contributions, but have now blocked. Thanks again. TigerShark (talk) 23:05, 11 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]

@TigerShark: One of the downsides of temporary accounts is that they make it easier to overlook other editing from the same IP address, because obviously one doesn't see it unless one actively looks for it. On the other side of the coin, though, they sometimes make it visible that edits from different IP addresses are in fact from the same person, if the IP address under a temp account changes, which would obviously be invisible under the old system. You win some, you lose some... JBW (talk) 23:15, 11 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Hi JBW, can you tell me who requested the deletion of this draft? As far as I can tell, it was created by an IP then later edited by Criticize, a blocked sock. Thanks! S0091 (talk) 20:37, 12 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]

@S0091: The draft was created by an IP editor, who used two very closely related IP addresses. The account Luna.t5 was then created, and its owner claimed to be that IP editor. From looking at the editing history of Luna.t5 and the IP addresses, I see no reason to doubt that it was indeed the same person. Luna.t5 did some editing, but eventually replaced the entire content of the draft, apart from material relating to declined AfC submissions, by the text "Such a horrible article". Criticize restored the removed content, but one minute later self-reverted. That was all the editing that Criticize did on the page, so their actual contribution to the page was nill. Luna.t5 then totally blanked the page, and QuicoleJR requested speedy deletion. Luna.t5 then redirected the draft to an article. If you wish to take the line that the redirecting superseded the blanking, and that therefore it shouldn't be G7 deleted, let me know, and I will restore the redirect. Personally I think that there's no good reason for keeping the redirect, and very slight reason for preferring not to, but I don't care enough either way to wish to debate, argue, or defend any position relating to it. JBW (talk) 21:00, 12 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, ok. My concern was a sock requesting G7 of a declined draft to wipe the history just so they can recreate it but that does not appear to be case. Leave it be and thank you for the thorough explanation. S0091 (talk) 21:17, 12 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Redirect

Hi, Can you redirect Colors (Indian TV channel) to Colors TV. Was protected quite a while ago due to sock shenanigans but those have now largely subsided.

Thanks Gotitbro (talk) 10:49, 14 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]

As you mentioned, this article is exempt from speedy deletion under criterion A7. However, the subject is clearly non-notable private institution, relies on self-published sources, and lacks significant coverage. As a Wikipedian patrolling pages related to Indian educational institutions, I have come across too many articles that violate Wikipedia's terms. KnowMosaic 09:33, 17 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]

A couple of points, there was a previous AfD resulting in Keep, and the article is no longer about what it was about. Bit of a mess, frankly. DuncanHill (talk) 09:39, 17 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
@KnowMosaic and DuncanHill: I agree with both of you, and personally I would have liked to speedily delete it, but doing so would not have been consistent with the speedy deletion policy. A second AfD might well have a different outcome. JBW (talk) 14:00, 17 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
