Thank you today for Taylor Swift (album), "about the first album by Taylor Swift, who started out as a country singer-songwriter. Is this country music? I don't know, maybe, but I know that this album kinda slaps, especially the track "Our Song"." - We sing today. -- Gerda Arendt (talk) 06:03, 30 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hey

Hello, @Ippantekina! It's been a while since we last contacted, and I hope you're doing well. I have seen you adding info on songs from the book Taylor Swift All the Songs: The Story Behind Every Track. Black Dog & Leventhal, and I just want to ask if you have a copy of the Speak Now section of the book because I can't access the preview of it at Google Books. This is so I could expand Speak Now-related articles with it :) Gained (talk) 01:44, 28 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Gained, how are you? Unfortunately, the previews of that book that I come across on Google Books are inconsistent, like some days they show Speak Now, other days they show Reputation lol. I was thinking of requesting maybe 2-3 chapters via Wikipedia:WikiProject Resource Exchange/Resource Request... Ippantekina (talk) 04:35, 28 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Same, I've been having those issues, so I plan to also request the Speak Now section to that page, but I figured to ask you first since you have added info to a lot of songs from different albums with the book. Thank you as always for your response :) Gained (talk) 06:47, 28 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]

DYK for Elizabeth Taylor (song)

On 1 January 2026, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Elizabeth Taylor (song), which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that Taylor Swift wrote a song about Elizabeth Taylor after learning that the late actress's son compared the two of them? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Elizabeth Taylor (song). You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Elizabeth Taylor (song)), and the hook may be added to the statistics page after its run on the Main Page has completed. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to nominate it.

Asking for some advice

Hi Ippantekina! It has been a while since our last interactions, but I came to you asking for some pointers on approaching an article's background. As I usually edit the Weeknd related articles (which goodness our fandoms are always arguing on Twitter even though Taylor and Abel are great friends), I was wondering, as you are essentially one of the main contributors in getting so much of Taylor's music to Featured Article status, how do you approach creating a FA worthy Background section?

I've been working on converting House of Balloons, his debut mixtape, into FAC status but I don't know what to start with in the Background. I want to get what must be known down, as I only have one paragraph in the section, but I don't want to delve into things that may ruin a NPOV. Thank you :) 𝘮𝘪𝘤𝘩𝘢𝘦𝘭'𝘴 𝘥𝘦𝘢𝘳 𝘮𝘦𝘭𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘩𝘰𝘭𝘺, 00:20, 25 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, thanks for reaching out! Yeah Twitter stans are annoying, but without them Twitter wouldn't be Twitter lol. For House of Balloons, if there is not enough information for "Background", you can merge "Background" and "Development" into one section. Normally for Swift album articles, the "Background" section includes some info on her most recent album and the first ideas for her current one. As House of Balloons is Abel's debut, I reckon it might be hard to follow that structure... so "Background and development" would make more sense. Hope this helps, and I'm more than happy to help out (depending on my capacity of course... I'm trying to find an internship haha). Cheers, Ippantekina (talk) 13:08, 25 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Helps a lot!!! Making Abel's articles into Featured status is so difficult because unlike Taylor and her producers, who share their process so they understand the album's creation, he just... stays mostly silent. This even makes me scared for FAC since only 7/10 tracks from the mixtape (generously, maybe 8/10 with a very small interview from a writer who just mentioned meeting up with Abel once and never details their process) actually have their creation process covered, making me believe it fails the well-researched criteria. Thank you :) 𝘮𝘪𝘤𝘩𝘢𝘦𝘭'𝘴 𝘥𝘦𝘢𝘳 𝘮𝘦𝘭𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘩𝘰𝘭𝘺, 18:19, 25 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]
That doesn't necessarily fail the "well-researched" criterion; as long as you cover nearly all possible existing sources, it's fine! Best of luck and lmk if you need anything else - would like to see one of Abel's album/song articles getting promoted to FA, given his gigantic success :) Ippantekina (talk) 19:06, 25 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, it definitely does feel weird that I chose his debut "mysterious" mixtape over his biggest commercial project (After Hours) for FA conversion. I've been reviewing so many FA album's the past few days, the Impact section takes inspo from Taylor's debut, which it's fascinating to me how she has been able to alter the way artists promote and create their music since the ages of 14-17. This also feels like a sort of redemption for me as if you look at the edit history for the article, you can see me just go on hiatus when I begun expanding the article in 2024.

I'm probably gonna get ready to experiment with adding snippets of music to the article soon while not getting ferociously whooped for accidentally breaking 17 copy violations lol 𝘮𝘪𝘤𝘩𝘢𝘦𝘭'𝘴 𝘥𝘦𝘢𝘳 𝘮𝘦𝘭𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘩𝘰𝘭𝘺, 05:21, 26 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]

808s & Heartbreak

Hello Ippantekina! I noticed how in 2024 you removed alternative R&B from 808s & Heartbreak and said that there wasn’t anything to back it up to stay, however, Contemporary R&B has been sourced more times by different reviews calling 808s an R&B album, are you able to re add R&B to the genres list please? ~2026-71189-7 (talk) 21:42, 1 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Taylor Swift albums

There was a discussion regarding the removal of any outdated sales when a newly updated certification is released. Does not matter if it's from a year or a month. Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Albums/Archive_70#h-Album_certification_clarification-20230905173900 - if you have an issue with it I would advise opening up a discussion yourself. Pillowdelight (talk) 00:01, 19 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]

@Pillowdelight: I read the discussion, and a consensus was not yet established, so I don't have an issue with any consensus that is non-existent. And a 2024 pure sales figure for a 2010 album is not "outdated" imo. Ippantekina (talk) 00:06, 19 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Please be serious now, All parties agreed that sales refs shall be removed when a newly updated cert is issued. Do I need to provide where it's stated, good lord. This is not difficult to comprehend. If I need to get an admin involved I will. Pillowdelight (talk) 00:12, 19 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
A 2024 pure sales ref when a newly updated cert in 2025 is released is indeed in fact considered outdated. I don't even think you read the discussion at this point. Pillowdelight (talk) Pillowdelight (talk) 00:13, 19 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
To quote Muhandes in the discussion: As always, it's crucial for editors to exercise their discretion when assessing the reliability of the source. Also, I typically remove outdated sales figures if a new certification has been issued, unless there are objections from other editors. I provided my rationale to keep the 2024 sales figure despite the 2025 update, that "pure sales are not as volatile as streaming-adjusted certification". Do get a third party opinion as you wish. I stand my ground that my justification is fair. Ippantekina (talk) 00:16, 19 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
You can open up a discussion - you're the one who disagrees. I provided a past discussion which you still disagree with so I advise you to take it the next appropriate talk page and open a discussion. Pillowdelight (talk) 00:21, 19 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
The sales amounts of these album articles have been there for quite a while until your edits, so you are in the contrarian here, not me. Please let me know if my justification re. volatility of pure sales vs streaming-adjusted certs is insensible, and I'm open to discuss with you. Let's not follow the procedure just for the sake of it, since that discussion implies that case-by-case exceptions/differences are allowed or even expected. Ippantekina (talk) 00:26, 19 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
I sent Muhandes a message on his talk page asking him to join and give insight on this. He's more wiser when it comes to certifications. But just because they've been there a while doesn't mean they need to be kept there? You make it sound as if an album went platinum then a sales ref was released of having 300,000 sales and then let’s say 6 years go by and the cert was updated to 3x platinum - do you believe the 300,000 sales just stayed and didn't rise? It would 100% be considered outdated even if it's a year old sales ref and the following year the cert was updated. Pillowdelight (talk) 00:44, 19 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for your opinion. Ippantekina (talk) 01:21, 19 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
My position remains as it was. My personal preference is to use a certification if it is newer than a pure sales figure. However, If someone objects, I very seldom see it as important enough to argue. Muhandes (talk) 12:29, 1 March 2026 (UTC)[reply]
