Hi, I'm Dan. Feel free to wander around my userspace.

Seasons greetings!

Snowy winter landscape with trees at Shipka Pass

Wishing you and yours a fantastic Christmas (or holiday season for those who don’t celebrate) and all the best for 2026. 🎄 ❄️☃️

Here’s to a collaborative, constructive year ahead — with good faith, good edits, and just enough discussion to get things done!

Good to see you back Dank, whether temporarily or full-time... Hope all's well with you!  — Amakuru (talk) 10:07, 14 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]
My allergies got better in November. I'm not sure how much I'm going to be doing, but it's nice to be back, and to hear from you. - Dank (push to talk) 12:30, 14 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Amakuru, I see an article you wrote coming up soon at WP:Today's featured article/January 18, 2026 ... "had more possession" ... is that right? Doesn't sound right. - Dank (push to talk) 13:35, 14 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Great to hear you're doing better... Re "had more possession", maybe it's an WP:ENGVAR thing – that's a normal enough phrase in the context of football, it simply means that team had the ball in their possession for a greater percentage of the match than the other team. See here for example, the page says "They had more possession" and it refers to Dundee having 52.3% to Hearts' 47.7%. See here for a UK report on an American football match, at one point it says "They've had more possession than New England", same thing really. Not sure if there is wording you think would work better per WP:COMMONALITY?  — Amakuru (talk) 14:58, 14 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]
My mistake. It's easier to look these things up than it used to be, I need to change my habits. - Dank (push to talk) 17:21, 14 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]

January music

story · music · places

Great to see your name on my watchlist again! - Whenever you want to see my latest story - music - places, click below the image, - all short articles now. - In case you want to work on TFA blurbs again: I have one Bach cantata pending for Easter and one for Christmas, and plan one for Ascension Day which may push Easter out for later in case it's deemed too close, - the Ascension work being a tercentenary, while both others would be 301 years. But it first needs to be written ... -- Gerda Arendt (talk) 10:44, 14 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Good to hear from you, Gerda! I'm looking forward to your cantatas. - Dank (push to talk) 12:32, 14 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you! 20 January is the 100th birthday of David Tudor (see my story) and the 300th birthday of Bach's cantata Meine Seufzer, meine Tränen, BWV 13, if we go by date instead of occasion as he would have thought, so see my story for last Sunday, and celebrate ;) --Gerda Arendt (talk) 20:25, 20 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]

TFL notification

Hi, Dank. I'm just posting to let you know that List of basal asterid families – a list that you have been heavily involved with – has been chosen to appear on the Main Page as Today's featured list for February 18, 2026. The TFL blurb can be seen here. If you have any thoughts on the selection, please post them on my talk page or at TFL talk. --PresN 18:11, 16 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks PresN, I'm looking at it now. - Dank (push to talk) 18:21, 16 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]
