Hi! I noticed you BLARed this recently - for future reference, could you try to check to see if the target article links to the new redirect, to avoid ciruclar redirects? I've unlinked this one. Rusalkii (talk) 20:51, 14 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I made sure to unlink all the circular links in the discography section (including for the article I BLARed), but I must have missed it in the prose of the article. Many thanks for catching it. Cakelot1 ☞️ talk 21:02, 14 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Canadian coat of arms caption

Moxy added byline "rendition of..." to the coat of arms of Canada, see this and that as a humourous essay as a replacement for free equivalent to the coat of arms what I discussed per Wikipedia:Files for discussion/2025 December 24#File:Coat of arms of Canada.svg. Same as the United Kingdom does not require "rendition of..." caption. Absolutiva 11:25, 3 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia:Principle of Some Astonishment (humorous essay) vs

File:Royal Coat of arms of Canada.svg

This representation of the coat of arms of Canada is based solely on its blazon. Therefore, it differs from the official representation of the coat of arms that appears in official documents. The Government of Canada asserts perpetual Crown copyright over that depiction under the royal prerogative. Therefore, the version of the coat of arms used by the Crown in right of Canada cannot be uploaded to Wikimedia Commons. To avoid confusion when using this representation of the coat of arms, it is suggested that you should mention in the image caption that it is a version of the coat of arms constructed on the basis of its blazon.

@Moxy, I have had nothing to do with coat of arms of Canada (partly because it seems far to contentious for my liking) and what I reverted solely Absolutiva changes to Coat of arms of the United Kingdom. As I said at talk:Coat of arms of the United Kingdom I have no interest in the decisions at one article impacting the other. Cakelot1 ☞️ talk 15:06, 3 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]
@Cakelot1: Let's ignore about the local consensus for image caption as described per file, because it's a humorous essay as explained by Moxy not to mislead readers. Absolutiva 15:18, 3 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]
@Absolutiva, I'm very sorry, but I'm finding it difficult to understand what your trying to say. I've stated my reason why I don't think the caption should be used on Coat of arms of the United Kingdom, at talk:Coat of arms of the United Kingdom. I'm not much interested in what an editor added to the Canadian CoA file page a month ago, as where talking about a different set of files on an different article (Coat of arms of the United Kingdom)! @Cakelot1 and Moxy: Let's discuss about the image captions for rendering at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Heraldry and vexillology#Image caption. Absolutiva 15:58, 3 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]
